Cats vs Dinos mode and more (lazy/afk players) rant

I have decided to start this post because of frustrations I have recently encountered with other players brought about from the Trials of Gnomus. I have been noticing this a lot since yesterday and that is just players joining the Cats vs. Dinos game and parking their character in the beginning and contribute nothing to help in the team effort. These types of players just shoot off into random places or move from side to side. I have been told by other players that this is not new and people do it in other game modes as well. Why join a game if you are not going to do anything? What you can contribute may make the game finish quicker or help your team win. I do not understand people who do this other than pure laziness and to get credit for doing nothing. I know that some people may glitch when they spawn into the game and may not have the ability to do anything for a round because I saw it happen to my husband. I do not judge people the first time I see them doing nothing, I observe them for a few rounds and then make up my mind from there. These game modes are so fast, how lazy can you be to not try?

It is upsetting to players like myself who actually play the game to have fun and try to win. What is worse is that there is nothing we can do about it to report those types of people. I have played other games, on pc, where you have the ability to report afk people and they are removed from the game if they are truly not there. I have not been able to find this type of feature on PSN. If there is something already in place to report players who just stand there and shoot walls I would love to know about it. I know that with anything people like to abuse those types of reports but there are people that will use it for what it's meant for.

It is just frustrating to be in "The Little Red Hen" situation. I don't want people benefiting from my and my teammate's  work while they themselves contribute nothing. Anyone else experiencing this type of player?

omg I was killing some time playing CvD (I've already banked 50 stars) and I got in a team with FOUR players running in circles at the back of the map.

I have to admit it was fun watching the one who was found by a singularity.

@bigoldbagofcrap Since you said some of us need to go back and read the bugs and issues page before ranting about afks in Cats vs Dinos I will make the assumption that you were not referring to my original post. I cannot speak on everyone else's behalf of whether or not they read the entirety of my post. To clarify, I did mention specifically in my post that I understood that some people may be glitching because my husband experienced it while playing. All he saw were clouds. He also received a message from a player saying that he needed to do something to help the team. He wasn't in a party with anyone when he glitched so I am assuming you can glitch regardless if you are in a party with someone else or not when you join the game mode. My original post was not intended for those types of players, it was meant for people who have the ability to move around freely and participate in the game but intentionally sit back and do nothing. Those are the types of players that frustrate me.

Everyone brought up some great points. There seems to be no real solution to this problem. There are too many variables that come into play when trying to figure out who truly is doing nothing just to get stars, coins, or credit for quests. Like some mentioned sometimes RL happens and you have to step away from the game for a few minutes. Also, the people who get zero kills in a game would not be a good measure. I have experienced this myself where I have been present the whole game and trying to kill/capture the objective only to be killed before I could do anything. Those games are frustrating.

Thank you everyone for what you have contributed to the discussion thus far. Thank you for letting me vent my frustrations and hopefully you were able to vent some of yours if you had some.👍

Or what about the player(s) who were shooting at the singularity thinking they could kill it....................that was hilarious. There were quite a few players that I saw doing it.

  • I spent a lot of time in the Cats vs Dinos arena and I saw a small number of Players doggedly attacking the singularity and I figured that they were either just goofing around or that they had not spent any appreciable amount of playtime, if any at all, in Infinity Time so were unfamiliar with Singularities. A couple of times the person I watched briefly was obviously trying to Vanquish it so I can only imagine their frustration.
