While I could nit-pick, like pointing out that I don't enter an ops game with a character about to pop level 10 without knowing in advance that I'm going to be shafted on xp, I am very much in agreement with pretty much everything in your post. Leaving games to promote is particularly annoying. It would be much simpler to have level 10 lead to level 1 rather than the current arrangement, level 6000 seems a much more logical goal than 5554. Who's going to say "gee, I'd much rather be beginner 10 than specialist 1?"

Yeah, it is not something I like to do. It is usually coupled with the split screen problem. I need to top off a character because we are about to switch backyards, and I won't be back to promote for awhile. (At that point the variant is dead to me until I get back to my backyard.) Its not a lack of knowing better its making the best of a bad situation. Its just a bummer I have to even make a decision like that.
