Cheese Mines Turf Takeover is impossible to win on attacking side

The final objective on the cheese mines (edit: the map is called Goopy Gully) turf takeover map (the giant space flagpole where you have to shoot the core) is not possible to win on plant side. I have yet to see plants win. As the objective progresses there are more spinning parts that block the core, which is a cool idea, but the thing has so much health. Once you get it to 40% hp it spins around to face the right side of zombie spawn. This means that you have to stand directly adjacent to the zombie spawn while staring at the core waiting for the half second that there isn't a shield covering the core to deal damage to it. And with the terrible stuttering in pvp, your shots might not even register! I haven't seen the objective go below 20% and I've played the game a lot so far. Either zombies need to be totally brain dead (heh) or plants need to be extremely coordinated, probably a mix of both. It's a cool objective idea, but really poor execution.

  • I've seen it won twice but it's extremely rare. The Drill is too hard to take out for the plants and needs to be adjusted to be a bit easier. I would say the best way to balance it would be more time to complete, or less health on the drill.

  • I've never seen the plants take out the drill.  I would think the zombies would almost have to LET the plants win.  That needs to be adjusted for sure.  The other one that needs adjusted is the one where the plants try to steal the batteries for the lighthouse rocket.  the plants either need FAR less time to start, or they should NOT get an extension when they successfully take a battery.  I have seen the zombies win that one twice, it is FAR too slanted towards the plants.

  • Huh. Weird.

One of the first PvP matches I played was Cheese Factory in Takeover and I was on Plants. My team won, though I feel that the Zombies I played against weren't very... good.

Yeah Cjackson, the lighthouse map is also terribly balanced in the other direction. One map the plants can't win, one map the plants can't lose! It's really bad and I hope they get some fixes in before launch. This is supposed to be the feedback period right? Let's see some changes.

@MajorAssh0le What are you guys talking about XD. Yes the zombies win more times on that map but impossible?

Lemme tell you a story when I was 9 in 2019 and got shot by some random plants... they worked together so well that I was dead and exploded. I WAS THAT CORE!

During the Alpha and first few days of this game never had I seen the plants win. Why? Either people to focused on getting kills or too lazy to read what Crazy Dave said or to ‘mindfull’ to remember it. I hardly ever saw it go past 75 cause most people shot at the entire drill for some reason.

I also saw a thread regarding the matter saying it wasn’t obvious that you should shoot the core. Maybe it was due to that and lack of knowledge that I never saw plants win. But since last week (so week 2) I’ve won it so many times. The favor is still tipped more towards zombie side but instead of 10-90 for zombies it’s like 35-65 for zombies now.

You just have to have a good team comp. If there aren’t at least 2 peashooters and 1 sunflower... or very determined people who know what to do, it’s gonna be tough. Hell I once even won that stage in like 1 minute because every plant was focus firing so it took literally less than 10 secs to get it to go to ‘phase 2’ (core centers on the right side) and it was even at 60% because ppl kept shooting. Then we killed all zombies and did roughly the same.

The lighthouse one is basically same story but there I find it more fair. With me it’s 55-45 for plants.
