Okay, i think my opinion is correct then:
I remember back in time, after the rosenerf patch matches was ABSOLUTELY bad.
I leaved the game for two weeks, then turned back and... i was really impressed that i was have joy playing the game.
It's impossible that leave the game for two week and eventually turning back could have increased my skills suddenly.
So i realized something else was changed.
More chompers and Citrons players.
In team vanquish is not rare to see a team of full of those.
So i realized the real problem in the patch wasn't the Rose nerf, but more likely the Corn buff. Too Corns ruins the team comp.
This is what i realized, no clue if is true or not, but still an opinion.
And the fact i left the game after some days and when i turned back i ddnt feel a really unbalance game maybe is a thing to consider.
You're certainly right about the Corn ruining the Plants to some degree. It's not becaise the Kernel is bad, in fact, you need one or two of them to open up a push, but he can't substain the push all too well because he dies rather quickly from concentrated fire. Another problem is that, as you pointed out, a good Corn needs map awarness, positoning, good use, management and aim of abilities and predicting skills in order to be credit to team. On his own, the default Corn (and most of his variants) is a good and well rounded addition to the plant offense. The problem comes from players playing him like they would play the Footsoldier in GW1. They rush without support into unfacorable areas and engagements, waste their ablilities all too often and DO NOT care about protecting the Sunflowers and Roses. It wouldn't ve bad if there was only one of these guys in every gane, but their are a lot of them, which is just crippling the Plant team.
