@Thorgonator 200 hp is a bit much. it might encourage more melee range playstyles i guess but i feel like it wouldnt make him any better (by much). i guess if they want people to use his melee attack more they could just increase his base movespeed. for a "melee character" he moves pretty slow. i got him to gm5 purely by playing backline chomper. i feel backline / sniper chomper is better than melee chomper (especially on defense). I would like to use his melee but his effectiveness at range is so good i don't really see a reason why i should.
They made burrow loud as heckk but abilities like bean bomb, barrel blast, eggsplosion and station's guided missiles are all completely silent until they're about to go off or right next to you. I dont think burrow has to be as loud as it is.
as for the spikeweed changes, i'm fine with the current spikeweeds. They arent as good as most other attack character abilities but sometimes (very rarely) someone might walk into it and take 75 dmg. It could use a bit of an arm time and hp buff.
I do well with current chomper but reworking him to be more close range focussed would be nice. Kinda weird how snap dragon became the close range fighter on plants. the guy's name is chomper, yet he doesnt even chomp that often. most times when he does, he just dies while chewing : ^)

@chogath_player I thought about movement speed as a buff to him, but then I remember how good the Hot Rod Chomper was in past games. You lose a lot of health playing as him, but even without the swallow speed boost, your movement speed was ridiculous. I'd get some crazy kill streaks with that since you could often KO a person before they could react. It might not be too bad as is since there's no instakill outside of burrow, but movement speed makes a HUGE difference on a Chomper, and it runs the risk of making him OP if they added more.
I'd just like to see his close range capabilities buffed. Like you mentioned, it's a shame that a character who is made for melee ends up bring better at mid range.
