Chromatic Abberation is terrible, let us disable it! (PC)

Why in the world developers would add chromatic aberration effects to a game that can be played competitively online is beyond me.  This game already has too low of an FoV, and making the game look like it's being filmed with a camera with cheap lenses makes zero sense.  I have no idea why anyone would think chromatic aberration was a good idea.

For those unsure, chromatic aberration simulates a camera lens defect that adds red and blue fringes to the edges of things and does nothing but degrade the picture quality and sharpness, especially on the outer edges of the screen.

  • I agree, I despise the Chromatic Aberration used in this game along with Anti-Aliasing. However neither are available in the video settings to turn off. I managed to turn off AA through the config files, but Chromatic Aberration is left and as jarring as ever. I request that the developers add an option to turn off Chromatic Aberration, along with Anti-Aliasing in the Video Settings.

  • @SimDezzy While I don't have a fix or know what they are calling Chromatic Abberation in the config files.. I know you can manually change the FOV the same way it was done in GW2.
You have to go to file explorer on windows, find the BFN folder.. select settings.. open the profile with notepad and search for Fieldofview 70.0000 and change the first 2 to 90 or whatever you like.

While I know how to do this, I am unsure if this can get you in trouble.. i've tested it, but reverted back to how they intend for us to play the game.. hoping things change.

So yeah, I agree.. I need ON and OFF for Chromatic Aberration and a FIELD OF VIEW Slider of sorts.
  • Is there any way to turn off Chromatic Aberration in this game? I'd love to see it as an toggle-able option in the video settings, but at this point I'd settle for even a config file edit to make it happen. I hate Chromatic Aberration in games, and I can't see any reason Plants versus Zombies to use it. Sure some games make sense stylistically to use it, but Plants Versus Zombies? I'm thankful they added an option to turn off Anti-Aliasing, but an option to disable Chromatic Aberration would be really nice.
