Citron Should not be named citron
as you have seen one of the new plants are known as citron
but in fact citron is an orange and citron is french for lemon fix this immediatly EA

Citron is based on the plant from Plants vs Zombies 2: Its about time.
Also, he's from the future - in the future things could be named differently 😛
My guess is that in this case, Citron is futuristic word play on the word citrus... which is the type of fruit an orange is considered.
False. Citron is lemon in french, yes, but this is a false friend (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_friend).
Oranges, lemons & limes are all citrus fruits, this is where the name comes from.
