With lots of EA games getting cross-play support, it makes you wonder if BfN will take a similar path. Let's look at what developers have said on the topic.When interviewed by MoonLiteWolf in November, Shaun Laker, Live Producer for Plants vs. Zombies said:"So, I'm a big gamer. I love what cross-play will bring to every title in the future. But it's not as simple as some saying 'go ahead guys' it's actually really tough. We would need big technology updates to support it, so right now we're focusing on the quality of our gameplay. Is it possible that down the road Battle for Neighborville could feature crossplay? It's a possibility but nothing we can promise right now. But what I can promise is if we start working on it, we will let the community know."So as you can see they said it was a possibility all the way back in November of last year, so almost a year ago. The one issue they had with it is "technology updates to support it". The good news is that BfN has risen in popularity and has been earning more, so it is very much possible we can see something this year or next.It's safe to assume that seeing there have been no official announcements up to date, there is no work being done on the topic of cross play. Let EA and PopCap know you want this insane feature by giving this post a 'Me Too', replying or even some XP if you're a cool Plant or Zombie. 🙂

@CompleatBeet I am pleased to know that cross-play can become real, I really want to see it in BFN, it will be of great help because there will be more players in less-than-played modes, it will open up huge possibilities for the game, and in that way they would remove multiplayer bots.

I am 100% sure that if the developers see a high demand for Cross-Play, they'll see what they can do. After what went down at this year's EA Play, they did say that EA is conducting a big push to make sure people can play their games with friends, no matter the platform. I doubt they'll neglect their best shooter series 🙂@TheSprinter85 Yes, I'd personally love to connect with the community more. Battle for Neighborville definitely has one of the best communities out there and it is enlightening to hear that they may be able to support cross play, maybe even cross progression!

@CompleatBeet I am pleased to know that cross-play can become real, I really want to see it in BFN, it will be of great help because there will be more players in less-than-played modes, it will open up huge possibilities for the game, and in that way they would remove multiplayer bots.

It would be extremely cool if the forum people could play together, but I have to say I'd probably be a little scared of it 🤔.
I mean everybody on this forum, including myself, complains about certain play styles. And if I used one of them without thinking I might be a little hypocritical 😇.

@CompleatBeet I feel like if they can't enable cross play as it is a lot of work, they should at least have cross save! Then people would still have to buy the game again on other platforms (sadly), but would be able to keep all their progress and could play with people on other platforms.

@benn1nat0r Both cross play and cross save/cross progression will be a challenge for Popcap to implement into the game. EA has been funding their studios to ensure that their games can grow and support big features like these so I would expect some news on this down the line.
