Exactly this.
The fact is that, at least what I've seen on this forum so far, very few people actually try to predict the opponent's moves.
EVERY time I face a heroe with the Mega-Grow class, I instantly prepare for Captain Cucumber and Lilly of the Valley.
I replace my entire hand if necesary in order for me to draw my removals.
Call me paranoid if you want, but it has helped me so far.
Speaking of which, I've also seen that not many people include removal in their decks.
I mean, I understand that not everyone love control decks, but at least include some kind of counter for the cards that cause you so much trouble.
I have a dancing deck with Electric Boogaloo that I use from time to time to complete my missions.
It is a pretty normal dancing deck, filled with Unlife of the Party, Aerobic Instructor, Flamenco Zombie, etc, and I STILL include Alien Ooze on it as a way to counter this annoying cards.
I don't really know what "type" deck I have but I would guess it's probably what would be a hybrid of a couple which may be a combo deck.
All I can tell you is like @Azombioso mentioned, even playing decks that have a specific theme, you're still going to need to get rid of the cards that spell out your doom.
Final mission is another nice way to get rid of the conjuring cucumber. And sometimes you have to be smart and save a couple cards. Boogaloo has that supertrick were he gets two 1/1 dancing zombies, and they work quite nicely to sacrifice for final mission....just saying
