DPS Measurement

What's the opinion on each base having a DPS Measurement device. I think it could really help when you've maxed out a character to work out what of the 8 character upgrades are best to use for each class. I appreciate you can shoot the plants/zombies out in the backyard but you have to travel to them and with all the fighting with the opposite team it's hard to get a consistent amount of damage.

There are so many wonderful classes each with their own flare and way to play but having an idea of DPS might help when deciding between a standard cactus and Camo for example. So here is my suggestion:

Plants: The Zen Tallnut

Powerful in the way of meditation this large Tallnut is incapable of getting hurt or feeling pain. He is however brilliant at describing to you what he would be experiencing, had he not have this power.

Giant Tallnut with a purple face and a meter next to him updating in real time your DPS. The purple face is to highlight where to shoot for critical hits.

Zombies: The Weighted Dummy Shield

Zomboss has developed a way to make dummy shields indestructible. He stuffs them with gold! However he only had enough gold to fill one of them and it's too heavy for even a Giga-Gargantuar to lift. So he put it here for safe keeping.

Oversized Dummy Shield with a few tears in the cloth to show stacks of gold underneath. Has a bullseye sloppily painted over the head for the critical and a similar meter next to it.

I think if both are positioned next to or atleast near to the Character Booth it would be really useful.

Opinions?

  • I wouldn't mind a in-game way of measuring your DPS yeah, nothing bother calculating that for the new char yet and all the change, So that would pretty nice to know.

Really good idea, I would like to see it implemented.

This would be a great way to test out new characters and abilities, as you said you can just shoot the AI in the central area of the map but it doesn't give you a true sense of the damage a character can inflict.

Some sort of DPS tester in the backyard would be fantastic, and the way you've described it here is perfect, I hope it gets implemented!

Could add a target plant or zombie "dummy" like in world of Warcraft. At the zombie base and plant base. There's a lot of room for it

  • I agree this would be a really good idea to find DPS. I can never decide which variation of plant or zombie I want to use and when I'm changing upgrades I have to run all the way to the centre just to test out the changes. A dummy to check damage and DPS changes would be extremely useful.
