EA does not recognize my Xbox Gold membership
I just bought the game earlier this day and I got this message: ''Your profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality''. I have an Xbox gold membership. Please help...

Is this Xbox One or 360?
Does there happen to be any parental restrictions on the account preventing online access?
Sorry, I forgot to mention if was on the Xbox One.
I went into the privacy settings and changed my profile to custom with everything enabled. However it did not help. After that I had a chat with a EA-supporter, which did not help either.
My theory is, EA does not recognize trail-memberships. I'm going to call Microsoft tomorrow for a membership removal, so I can try with a paid one.
I am having the same issue on a Xbox one. We do not have a trial membership. We have a 3 month membership. It let me get past this message once, but then when I tried to join a game it said, no games match the selected criteria or something like that. Now its back to the profile doesn't have permission. This is my son's account. I tried logging into my profile as the parent to see if it works for me, but it says I don't have a gold membership. My son activated the code under his name. For some reason that doesn't give me gold membership as well. My son is 10, and the game is rated 10+, not sure if this is a parental issue or what. I read somewhere that on xbox one, 8 or older doesn't have any online restrictions for games.
Any help is appreciated. Any reason why if my son activated the gold membership, I do not have access to it as the parent? We are setup as a family on the same Xbox one.
Parental restrictions is something that you set on your own, there is no magic age that will have no restrictions at all. It's all dependent on how the account is set up.

As for why the parental account doesn't have Gold, you should be checking with Xbox Support. I would assume the family sharing is generally to only share with child account, not vice versa - but again I'm only assuming.
