I've connected once (a few hours ago) but cannot now and am getting the following message:
No clue why the picture is rotated.
Popcap has posted on the reddit sub that they are investigating this issue.
I'm still having this issue even after restarting.

I wish more people would mark answers as solutions and give XP to everyone who spends time offering help even when some answers aren't solutions.

I believe the failure to retrieve saved data is a separate issue from the patch verification error (both of which I'm familiar with).
