@SilentQuack Yeah, this entire thing has gotten REALLY weird as of late, and I believe my stance on the situation has majorly shifted several times lol. When this first started, I was super excited, and made a video in fifteen minutes expressing my feelings. Of course, I felt differently less than a day later, but’s still a record of my feelings. I then went along with more enthusiasm and did a what-if scenario about potential updates, and then EA responded again. I made another video, but since pretty much nobody else made a video on the topic, it must have gotten too drawn-out to matter. My take went to cautious optimism for a while until PvZ1 and Heroes were updated. My expectations took a COMPLETE nosedive, thinking “yeah, it might be for the best that GW2 stays the way it is.” That was, until Heroes got updated again. Now that it’s evident that the devs are listening, my faith has been mostly restored. I wish you well, PvZH Janitor!
What I meant with the whole “hype-up” thing is that viewers from the outside would be thinking about how lame it is to act like a simple rebalance is something worth celebrating. All of the EA bad, PopCap good scroungers would start whining “EA is so lazy, imagine pretending a balance change is a huge update, blah blah blah” despite that it does require a great deal of awareness to revive a soon-to-be nine year old game. I would genuinely love to see a day where EP is unironically placed on the bottom of a tier list. Whatever the case is, I’m expecting any new productivity, if any, to show up in the new year because of the holiday season like you mentioned, and it generally looks better to open a year with big news over concluding one. At least for me, opening up with a flashy entrance can help set the precedent for what else is to come in the new year, so a (good) GW2 update would be perfect for that. AND AGAIN, THIS IS ASSUMING ANYTHING IS HAPPENING AT ALL.
And for the last bit, my best guess for what the edited mark could be is that it’s Shepard’s way of acknowledging our messages without having to reply to them, because pretty much everything they say gets quoted and packaged for the internet to see (I know because I have done it lol). It’s a friendly reminder that the project has not been forgotten about!
Sorry about the longer reply, but I did want to get all my thoughts out. Happy holidays!
