It's always a bit different between console and PC so this is harder for me to judge as I use my space bar to jump. It's still a thing on PC for sure, trapping a Peashooter as almost any zombie can be extremely annoying at best as they jump like loons and spam peas at you but like some other issues, it sounds significantly worse on console.
1) Increase size of hitbox for jumping characters.
2) Decrease running speed for characters who repeatedly jump (for me, > 2 times).
3) Increase walking speed enough to enable effective strafing.

If I’m being honest, I haven’t had that much of an issue with bunnyhopping recently. Since I don’t bunnyhop unless I’m trying to strafe a sniper’s shot, I find it easier to just aim and shoot where they’re going since I’m stable on the ground. I also haven’t come across many bunnyhoppers recently, but that could just be me. Some hitboxes, like Imp and Acorn, could stand a bit of a size increase, and thin characters such as Rose and Foot Soldier could use a little more width. I think sometimes it comes down to the capability of the player to handle the situation.
As well as the fact that hit registration still is an issue. Get that out of the way, continue to increase gameplay stability, get a few more adjustments to aiming, and possibly increase base movement speed. If all those issues are covered I think bunnyhopping would fix itself for the most part before long.
It is definitely aggravating, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like sometimes the heat of the moment definitely gets me more riled up than the situation necessitates. If the game fixes its core mechanics better it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Sprinting while bunnyhopping? Don’t even get me started. The sprint hitboxes are ridiculous and the poor hitreg and aiming issues don’t help that at all. That could definitely stand some changes.
- 6 years ago@SockReverie If most of the lobby were jumping tryhards, that game would probably die out. Bunny Hopping is especially annoying with smaller characters. Even Nightcap can be difficult to hit when she's bunny hopping. The fact that she relies so much more on Bunny hopping than strafing... she feels poorly designed in movement and it's no wonder she is still getting nerfed.
Maybe Acorn and Imp should get a hitbox increase so that they're more on par with Nightcap's hitbox? Nightcap is definitely easier to hit out of the 3.- 6 years ago@Pheesley Precisely why i said adjust thinner and smaller hitboxes and improve the movement. Increasing base movement speed so that strafing is possible in the first place would definitely help.

I think they should increase the jump gap between most characters, but keep characters who need it (like acorn or shadow shroom) the same

Most BFN players have adopted bunny hopping to the way that they play. It's truly terrible, especially for console players who use standard controllers. Some possible solutions:
1) Increase size of hitbox for jumping characters.
2) Decrease running speed for characters who repeatedly jump (for me, > 2 times).
3) Increase walking speed enough to enable effective strafing.I’ve literally thought of all those remedies, too. Thanks for the input!
Same to you, @AngryFreak2 , great suggestion.

I should add: I was being facetious and exaggerating about the bunny hoppers but it is true the majority are toxic try-hards.
What these people don’t understand (ones who abuse hopping) is that they’re not better at aiming than others, if they have a killer connection. Rather, they have a half second to full second advantage on their opponent and when that’s the same duration as the upward or downward motion of the bunny hop, those of us with standard internet connections have NO CHANCE or hitting them. By the time we try to adjust to their position with our crosshairs, they aren’t even “there” anymore as they appear on our screen.
Hope that makes sense.... it’s throwing off your hit box and might as well be seen as cheating.
