game balance and pacing
hello everyone i would like to hear from other people what they think about the pacing of the game, for me personally, i feel like the game favors rush decks and i will explain why.
First is the number of hp you possess compared to how big some cards can hit without even giving you the time to reply, here are some exemples : valkyrie, bananasaurus and some common cards as well can do alot of ridiculous amount of damage like threepeater with a buff on or even repeater and there is many more exemple of hard hitting cards.
the second reason is the block system, while being a very fun system i do believe it needs to be changed a little, it favors hard hitting character over small hitting ones since you will need more hit with small number you will prock the block faster and give free cards to the opponent, i believe there is 2 ways to fix it, either make it so the number of bars you get correspond with the damage taken so for exemple 1 dmg = 1 bar 2-4 = 2 bar and 5+ would be 3 bar. The other option would be to set a fixed amount but that would still make hard hitting cards better.
i am now at gold rank and most of the time a game doesnt last more than 6-8 turns. do you think its long enough? i personally dont. also i feel like there is a lack of good trick to be played and since this game doesnt features a summoner sickness (cannot attack the same turn a card is played) i think it should have more way for you to defend yourselfs other than by placing plants/zombies. so let me hear what you guys think!
