I am going through the same problem. I simply can't finish Zen Sensei's mission because the game simply crashes when it sends the clones. It has already crashed on the first clone wave, the second, or the third. The CPU simply goes 100% on all cores, the game crashes, and the audio gets weird.
Just to give you an idea, I even played the game at 800x600 resolution to see if this problem stopped, but it happened just the same.
I came here just to make a post about this problem, and then I saw that you made this post, to my luck.
My settings are:
- i5 2320 3.0 ghz,
- 8gb of ram
- GTX 1050 2GB.
Unfortunately I already found that most of the problems with this game on the PC are not due to people's settings, which are usually always very good, the problem is that the game is poorly optimized and full of bugs.
Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighboorville on PC is, without a doubt, the worst PVZ experience I've ever had. Only headaches. The amount of problems is countless.

I have the same problem, 2 weeks ago I couldn't play the game because of an anti cheat bug and now my game keeps freezing after 1 match or some missions, my PC isnt the greatest, so I expected it wouldn't run at 60 fps constantly. But now it's just unbearable. The previous bug was fixed in like 20 min, but there were alot of people with that problem, I don't see that many people with this problem. I just hope they will fix this soon. If they can optimise the PC version it could be such a great game.
