Game keeps crashing over and over

Very frustrated here. The game keeps crashing on me every time I play. I have a AMD FX 5100 6-core, 8GB RAM, Windows 10, GeForce GTX 550Ti.....I meet the required specs but see that I am not at the "...

I am one of the biggest PvZ fans out there and absolutely LOVE this game. I really don't have the funds to go purchase a new $800 PC right now and am desperately trying to fix this crashing issue so I can play without frustration. Every time I am trying to complete a quest or challenge my comp seems to crash right before it is completed. So frustrating. I really need some advice here please...

    Do you think its because my graphics card is a Geforce GTX 550Ti??? I know its just a step below the 600 series but surely it shouldn't be causing the crashing like this.
