Good to see it's not just me, now just need a fix from EA.
Still have this issue. I have read on another forum where players had this issue and they both used the EA access free trial before buying the game. I can confirm I also used the EA access trial then converted over to the full game, digital deluxe edition. I also tried to play split screen on the trial and the official message was that it wasn't working properly but rest assured that split screen would be functional when the game was released.
Can anyone else confirm that they used the EA access trial and are having this issue? What version did you purchase, digital or disc? If you did in fact have the EA access trial did you try to access split screen co op on it and get the error message?

Used EA Access and purchased the Digital Delux version. Can't remember if I tried to access garden ops on the trial though.

My case has been escalated and I am waiting to hear back through e-mail only as I have been told by chat and phone support. So far I am extremely disappointed with EA customer support knowledge of their product and will post back here if I get a response.

During my review of your case I had a look into the issues you have reported and can confirm that this is a known issue which the Plants Vs Zombies Developers are aware of and are actively investigating. Hopefully through their investigations they are able to determine the cause of this issue so it can be fixed. In the mean time we just ask for your patience while investigate the matter."
