Hi again everyone, the following tips are my tips for completing Snapdragon's character challenges. I used this website: https://plantsvszombies.fandom.com/wiki/Snapdragon_(PvZ:_BfN) to gather some of the upgrade descriptions, such as cost and names. Without further ado, I present character challenges for Snapdragon:

    Earn 5,000 XP as Snapdragon.

This challenge simply requires you to play as Snapdragon until you have earned 5,000 XP as him. This challenge should not prove difficult, but could take some time to get.

    • Use the "Levelling Up" upgrade (2 points) to get XP 10% faster from all actions.
    • 2-3 successful games of Ops or Skirmishes should award you with this challenge.
    • Always aim for vanquishes where you can as he is an Attack character. Multi-vanquishes are even more helpful.
    • Other actions like assists, reviving and so on are probably worth considering because it will give you XP.
    • You shouldn't have to worry much about this challenge - you should complete it before completing the rest of your challenges.
    • When doing this challenge, consider your other challenges - you might be able to make lots of progress on some of your other challenges while doing this one.

Ignite 200 Enemies using your Flame Blower.

For this challenge, you need to use your Flame Blower (your primary weapon) to ignite enemies. Enemies have a chance of being ignited with each Flame Blower attack, so you should focus on groups of enemies or higher health enemies to achieve this challenge faster. You do not need to vanquish enemies for this challenge.

    PvE TIPS

Ops, Skirmishes and Free-roam Fights: Focus enemies with higher health or that are clustered for this one, as you are much more likely to successfully set enemies on fire (ignite). In Ops, if enemies cluster the garden, seize the opportunity.

Battle Chests and Bounty Hunts: Focus enemies that have more health. Battle Chest 3 in Plants Town Centre could prove exceptionally useful for this one.

Bosses and Boss Fights: Probably the best choice. If you fight Olds Cool, a regular boss, or a gnome boss, you should snag lots of ignites during the battle.

    PvP TIPS

    • Use your Flame Blower against clustered enemies.
    • If possible, try and focus your enemies that possess higher health, to increase your chances of getting an ignite.
    • Damaged enemies are less likely to get ignited if you attack them, but if you fail to ignite them, you should still vanquish them.
    • Attacking from behind and surprising enemies might reward you, if you can do that.
    • Use your Swoop Slam to get into fights (or out of, if needed). Your Flame Blower has limited range so this ability can allow you to close the distance on an enemy.

    USEFUL UPGRADES

Coolant: Costs 2 upgrade points. By igniting an enemy, you get reduced overheat for your Flame Blower (and Flare Ball). This allows you to continuously attack enemies if you manage to ignite them.

Fearless: Costs 2 upgrade points. This is useful for rapidly regenerating health when you are near 2 or more enemies, your Flame Blower requires you to be near enemies to actually do anything. So the health regeneration is useful when near multiple enemies.

Ventilation: Costs 3 upgrade points. You get reduced overheat when using your Blue Blazes. This is great as there is no challenge regarding the use of your Blue Blazes, and this gives you a reason to use it. Use your Blue Blazes if you are about to overheat. Once the ability has resolved, you can start firing your Flame Blower again quickly.

Vanquish 30 Enemies using your Flare Ball.

Now, this challenge might be confusing, but most players probably understand what it requires. Your Flare Ball is a secondary weapon used by holding down the aim button while attacking, and is not an ability. The Flare Ball does significant damage but overheats rather quickly. That said, your Flare Ball also has the capability to ignite enemies. This challenge requires you to vanquish 30 of your enemies using your Flare Ball specifically. Due to requiring vanquishes, for this, you are better off focusing on damaged enemies or enemies with low health. Lastly, shared vanquishes with your Flare Ball count toward this challenge (needs confirmation), but not assists.

    PvE TIPS

Giddy Park (Private with Al): Your Flare Ball can vanquish the TV Heads in one hit. Go to the Zombie area, wait for them to appear, and use your Flare Ball on each enemy.

Ops, Skirmishes and Free-roam Fights: Use your Flame Blower to scatter groups of enemies, then use your Flare Ball to vanquish the ones with low health or are damaged. Or stay at a distance and pick off all the enemies with your Flare Ball.

Battle Chests and Bounty Hunts: Target enemies with low health or that are damaged. You can ignite enemies (as it leaves them with a minimum of 15 health), then use your Flare Ball to claim your vanquish.

Bosses and Boss Fights: Use your Flare Ball to vanquish any minions quickly. Otherwise, use your attacks and abilities to get the boss to low health, then finish the boss with Flare Ball.

    PvP TIPS

    • Always try and target enemies with low health or that are damaged.
    • Use your Flame Blower to set your enemies on fire, and finish them with a Flare Ball.
    • Do not use your Flare Ball at close range. You are rather vulnerable if you do that.
    • Your Flare Ball has an arc, use that to your advantage.
    • Use your abilites to weaken enemies with greater amounts of health.

    USEFUL UPGRADES

Coolant: Costs 2 upgrade points. If you ignite an enemy with your Flare Ball (or Flame Blower), your overheat is reduced for Flare Ball (or Flame Blower), meaning you can fire more shots before overheating if you manage to successfully ignite an enemy.

Radiate: Costs 2 upgrade points. Your Flare Ball attack will create a larger explosion if you use this upgrade, meaning you can deal extra damage and get vanquishes more easily.

Vanquish 30 Enemies with Swoop Slam #.

This challenge requires you to vanquish 30 enemies with the use of your Swoop Slam ability. This ability can deal high damage, so it shouldn't be difficult, even in PvP modes. Focus on grouped enemies, lower health enemies or damaged enemies, and this challenge should be a relative breeze.

    PvE TIPS

Giddy Park (Private with Al): Your Swoop Slam (if it contacts) can vanquish a TV Head in one shot. Use your Swoop Slam to vanquish your TV Head buddies. If you can manage to group them up, you may be able to vanquish multiple at once.

Ops, Skirmishes and Free-roam Fights: If enemies cluster around the garden, use your Swoop Slam to airstrike them and potentially get multiple vanquishes, if you do this, damage enemies first if possible using your primary attacks or Blue Blazes. In Skirmishes, try to use this ability in a cluster of enemies.

Battle Chests and Bounty Hunts: Weaken enemies and use your Swoop Slam to finish the job!

Bosses and Boss Fights: If the bosses summon minions, use Swoop Slam to attempt to vanquish them. Weaken the boss with your other attacks and abilities, then Swoop Slam for your vanquish.

    PvP TIPS

    • Try and Swoop Slam unsuspecting enemies.
    • Try to use this ability near closely clustered groups of enemies.
    • Attempt to use it on enemies with lower health pools or that you or an ally have damaged.
    • If you can, use it from a longer range and try and hit an enemy that way. They are unlikely to notice what is going on.
    • Use it on enemies with less mobility, you are less likely to miss.

    USEFUL UPGRADES

These will only indirectly help with completing your challenge. But you can use upgrades that reduce refresh times of abilities to use it more often.

Quake: Costs 2 upgrade points. Enemies you knock into the air with Swoop Slam, if they are not vanquished with it, they get knocked up into the air.

Incendiary: Costs 4 upgrade points. If you have a near-miss with Swoop Slam, it will set enemies on fire. Good for weakening enemies and going in for another vanquish attempt. Most notably good in PvE.

Deliver 500 Damage with Blazing Trail #.

For this challenge, you need to use your Blazing Trail ability to deal a total of 500 damage, you do not need to vanquish enemies using it. This ability deals low damage, but deals rapid damage and covers a relatively large area. This is noticeably useful in enemies that are grouped, as you can deal damage to multiple at once, and enemies with low mobility, because they will be caught in the fire for longer.

    PvE TIPS

Giddy Park (Private with Al): Use Blazing Trail to damage TV Heads until they are vanquished.

Ops, Skirmishes and Free-roam Fights: Always aim for grouped enemies as you will deal lots of extra damage this way. In Ops, if your enemies cluster around your garden, make use of your Blazing Trail to clear some enemies out and deal a lot of damage. In Skirmishes, if enemies are appearing from a certain area, throw a Blazing Trail that way.

Battle Chests: Aim for grouped enemies whenever possible.

Bosses and Boss Fights: Aim to launch your Blazing Trail right in the centre of them. They should take full damage from it due to how big they are and how slow they tend to move.

    PvP TIPS

    • Use it in groups of enemies.
    • If you use it behind enemies, they are likely to take a chunk of damage from it, if they were unaware of your presence when you used it.
    • Use it to block off objectives, tunnels or small spaces (or of course the enemies could be forced to take damage).
    • It takes a small delay to use this ability, so be cautious about when to activate it.
    • In Battle Arena, try to charge in to an area where enemies tend to go, place your Blazing Trail and run out. Either your enemies will take significant damage or will be forced to go another way.

    USEFUL UPGRADES

Engulf: Costs 2 upgrade points. Your Blazing Trail lasts for longer, giving you the opportunity to deal extra damage with this ability.

Campfire: Costs 3 upgrade points. Every 3rd vanquish you get creates a column of fire at location of your enemy vanquish. This is great for dealing even more damage again.

Backdraft: Costs 4 upgrade points. Your Blazing Trail travels much faster, giving enemies less time to react.

Upgrades such as Combo, Refreshing Revive and Critical Blow are really useful for completing these challenges as you can use these abilities more often, therefore getting more use out of them.

With Snapdragon and his challenges, they tend to vary about the best place to complete them in. However, if trying to complete all of his challenges in one session, I suggest heading to Town Centre (as Plants) or Mount Steep and either performing lots of Ops and Skirmishes until you complete his challenges. Try to remember to simply use your Blazing Trail to damage groups of enemies, save low health enemies for your Flare Balls and Swoop Slams. Lastly, try to save your Flame Blower for enemies that are tougher (or on bosses), as you should be able to damage them multiple times this way. Always keep your Flame Blower challenge in mind as this one will probably take the longest, so the more work you can do on it, the faster you can complete it!

That's all I have to say! Thanks for reading! 🙂
