Through the testing of many users (including myself), it has been found that ads do not work on older ios devices (original iPad, original iPad Mini, iPhone 4 and earlier).
It would be nice if Popcap would officially address this though.
I have a newer iPhone (SE) and the most updated iOS, but most ads do not work for me. I press the button and then the screen goes black. I then have to close and reopen the app.
