[GUIDE] - Creating a good deck (2/2).

Part One can be found here.

3.- Building your deck

You may also build your deck starting from a certain card.

Let's say for example that you get a Zombot Plank Walker from a pack, and you want it to be your win condition.

You know it is a Pirate Science Zombie, so you may start from there.

Am I going to make a Pirate Tempo deck?

If that's the case, you'll need as many pirates as you have.

Swashbuckler on turn 2.

Imp Commander on turn 3.

Barrel Roller Zombie on turn 4.

Perhaps a Imp-Throwing Gargantuar on turn 5 if you decide to play Impfinity, or Shieldcrusher Viking if playing Super Brainz, etc.

You add some more cards to fill the turns 6 and 7.

And then you play Zombot Plank Walker on turn 8.

Or maybe a Science Control deck?

If that's the case, you'll need as many science guys as possible.

Maybe some Electricians or Gadget Scientist so your Zombot have some extra attacks.

Some Rocket Science to kill big threats, and Beam me Up tricks to kill small things. (Plus, they have synergy with Electrician and Gadget Scientist)

Perhaps some Zombot's Wrath if playing as Impfinity, etc.

4.- Multiple win conditions

All heroes have 2 classes, either you are playing plants or you are playing zombies.

So, you may have 2 different win conditions, one for each class.

Let's say for example that you want to make a Flower Tempo deck.

If that's the case, you'll need as many flowers as you have.

Briar Rose is a must-have card in a Flower deck, so we'll start from there.

Briar Rose on turn 6.

Power Flower on 5.

Metal Petal/Bloomerang on 4.

If you are playing with Wall-Knight, you may play Steel Magnoia on turn 3 to boost the health of your plants on turn 2 and 1.

If you are playing Rose, you may play Mayflower on turn 3.

As a tempo deck, your win condition is that one of your plants kill your opponent.

However, you may have ANOTHER win condition.

If you are playing as Wall-Knight, you may have a Guardian Control deck as well as your Flower Tempo deck.

You add some cards like Potato MineGrave Buster or Shamrocket.

Your secondary win condition may be a Wall-Nut Bowling, for example.

Or you can play a Nut Tempo as well as your Flower Tempo deck.

You add some cards like Jugger-NutSmackadamia and Pea-Nut.

Your secondary win condition may be Mirror-Nut.

If you are playing as Rose, you may have a Smarty Control deck, as well as your Flower Tempo deck.

You add some cards like Chilly Pepper, Winter Squash and Brainana.

Your secondary win condition may be The Great Zucchini for example.

Or you can play a Bean Tempo as well as your Flower Tempo deck.

You add some cards like Admiral Navy BeanNavy Bean and Jumping Bean.

Your secondary win condition may be a pretty big Bean Counter, and bouncing back the zombie in it's lane with Jumping Bean or Spring Bean.

5.- Counters and rebuilding the deck

No deck is perfect. This means you will loose some games, no matter what.

However you may identify why you lost, and adapt your deck around it.

Remember the "counter" chart at the beggining.

Aggro usually beats combo.

Control usually beats aggro.

Combo usually beats control.

And Tempo is like the most well rounded.

If you are playing a Combo deck, but you keep getting smashed by Aggro decks, perhaps it would be a good idea to create a mixed deck of Combo-Control or Combo-Tempo.

If you have a Control deck, but Combo decks keep destroying you, you may add some more Tempo to force your opponent to waste cards.

If you keep loosing to Amphibious cards (I'm looking at you,Walrus Rider), you may try to include some removal or some Amphibious cards on your own.

And this is pretty much it.

I tried to make this guide as short as possible, but trying to explain everything I know about decks.

If you have some questions or comments, I'll be glad to read them and I'll answer them as soon as possible.

I have a very special deck that helped me climb all Diamond League, and I still have some success with it in Taco League.

I think my winrate with it is around 85%.

So, if I see you like this guide, I will probably share it with you in another post.

Until then, thank you for reading this, and I hope this will help you climb.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up.

I've added links to both posts to point to the other post 🙂

So post 1 has a link to 2, and post 2 has a link to 1.
