Guide to Countering Pots, Bots and Summonables!
Hello all,
I have already covered Pots, Bots, Plant Summonables and Zombie Summonables in previous guides, but this guide is going to cover how you can counter them when you come across them as their enemy. If you want to take the enemy Al out before they have a chance to deal much damage to your team, you can use your own Pots, Bots and Summonables as well. However, there are also ways that you can counter them quite easily. In this guide, I cover how you can counter each one, so here is how you can counter them, assuming you are on the opposite team:
Pots
Pea Cannon: Shoot it from a range and destroy it quickly.
Pea Gatling: Shoot it from a range and destroy it quickly.
Scaredy-Shroom: Get close to it and then destroy it. If you do this, it will hide, giving it lots of defense, however it will not fight back, so you can continue attacking it until it is destroyed. If you cannot get close to it, stay out of its line of sight.
Lightning Reed: Move away from allies so you do not spread further damage to allies, then quickly take it out by shooting it down.
Goop-Shroom: Take it out from a range so it cannot toxify you. If it does toxify you, move away from allies because the toxic damage can spread to them and wait it out until the toxic effect is over. During this time, try to take it out before it can do this attack again.
Heal Flower: Focus on destroying this before attacking enemies so they lose this source of healing.
Bonk Choy: Take it out from a long range so it cannot attack you.
Doom-Shroom: Take it out from a range and do not get close to it, or get close to it and let it start to explode. Get away quickly and allow it to waste its explosion. Then, it will need to recharge, so destroy it quickly so it cannot recharge.
Fume-Shroom: Take it out from a range, and if you do not have armor or shields, it should be a low threat to you, but still take it out (you may even have allies with armor or shields that this can easily destroy). Destroy it anyway.
Bots
Rocket Bot: Shoot it from a range and destroy it quickly.
Gatling Bot: Shoot it from a range and destroy it quickly.
Hide-n-Shoot Bot: Get close to it and then destroy it. If you do this, it will hide, giving it lots of defense, however it will not fight back, so you can continue attacking it until it is destroyed. If you cannot get close to it, stay out of its line of sight.
Mr. Electro: Move away from allies so you do not spread further damage to allies, then quickly take it out by shooting it down.
Loudmouth Bot: Take it out from a range so it cannot stun you and take it out quickly.
Dr. Heals: Focus on destroying this before attacking enemies so they lose this source of healing.
Boxer Bot: Take it out from a range so it cannot attack you.
Explody Bot: Take it out from a range, or get close to it and let it start its exploding process. Quickly get away and allow it to waste the explosion. Then it will start to recharge for a while, so use this time to destroy it.
Breaker Bot: Take it out from a range, and if you do not have armor or shields, it should be a low threat to you, but still take it out (you may also have allies with armor or shields that this can easily penetrate through). Destroy it anyway.
Plant Summonables
Terracotta Weed: Take it out from a range.
Vase Weed: Attack its feet or other unarmored parts of the Weed, you can ignore its armor this way. If not possible, use high damaging attacks and abilities to destroy it faster. If you see it coming from a distance away, start to attack it. It seems to get easily distracted and stops moving for a while when attacked.
Dandelion: Destroy it from a range before it reaches you. If it gets too close, try to get away before it explodes on you.
Wildflower: Take it out quickly.
Wildflower (Terracotta): Take it out quickly, try to use more damaging attacks and abilities to do so as this Weed has a bit more health.
Heal Weed: Try to destroy it before attacking other enemies as you remove a good healing source.
Hypno-Shroom: Take it out from a range. If it hypnotises you, sprint away from it or use abilities to get away, to possibly vanquish it, or to knock it away. Abilities that have an area-of-effect or that deal splash damage may prove useful here as it can be harder to aim while hypnotise it. If an ally gets hypnotised by this, try to help them out by vanquishing it as they will be vulnerable and disorientated.
Zombie Summonables
Buckethead Zombie: Take it out from a range.
Outhouse Zombie: Attack its feet or other unarmored parts of the Zombie, you can ignore its armor this way. If not possible, use high damaging attacks and abilities to destroy it faster. If you see it coming from a distance away, start to attack it. It seems to get easily distracted and stops moving for a while when attacked.
Screen Door Zombie: Attack it from behind, as this ignores its shield, however it will probably turn to face you, so deal constant damage to it as quickly as you can. If you see it coming from a distance away, start to attack it. It seems to get distracted when attacked, so if you keep firing at it, it will basically get stunlocked, but not actually, the term I would use is distracted.
TV Head: Take it out quickly.
TV Buckethead: Take it out quickly, try to use more damaging attacks and abilities to do so as this Zombie has a bit more health.
Heal Zombie: Try to destroy it before attacking other enemies as you remove a good healing source.
Yeti Imp: Destroy it from a range before it catches you or an ally. If not possible, try to get away or shoot it down quickly before it explodes on you or an ally.
Being able to counter these Pots, Bots and Summonables can be really useful because you will have an easier time overall dealing with your enemies, by taking out their reinforcements. Try to take out the Pots, Bots and Summonables that you find as quickly as you can so they do not overwhelm you and your team, because they will give your enemies an edge. You also get XP for vanquishing Pots, Bots and Summonables as well (about 10). Keep a lookout for these Pots, Bots and Summonables and destroy them as soon as you can if you find one. Again, knowing where the summoning locations are, even for when you are on the opposite team, can be really useful as you may know where Pots and Bots will be placed, or you will know where Summonables are coming from.
Hopefully, this guide will help you get over these sometimes annoying Pots, Bots and Summonables.
Until next time!
- @TheSprinter85 Awesome 🙂! I really like the use cases presented in the guides and how to deal with them as the enemy. Many people don't realize that pots, bots and summonable can have a significant impact on the outcome of Turf Takeover. Many also don't see potato mines hidden in the dirt piles where summonable can be summoned 🙂.
