Guide to Summonables (Plants)!
Hey everyone,
This guide is going to cover the Plant Summonables in the game - including which ones there are, their uses, and which situations I suggest that they should be used in. I will also provide any extra necessary information.
There are 3 kinds of Plant Summonables: Melee, Range and Support. Melee Summonables are mainly restricted to close-range combat. Ranged Summonables can deal damage from a decent range, but can also deal damage up close. Support Summonables heal your team and distract the enemy.
As a note, Plant Summonables can only be used in Turf Takeover, if you are capturing, and are on Plants. They are unavailable anywhere else (if you play Turf Takeover a lot, this may definitely be worth reading).
THE PLANT SUMMONABLES
There are a total of 7 Summonables (for the Plants) available for placement. They have no cost to be placed, however all Summonables have a cooldown before they can be placed again (no exceptions).
MELEE
Terracotta Weed
The Terracotta Weed is a Plant Summonable that whacks enemies that get close to it or that it gets close to. It has decent health and deals decent damage, so using this can be good for distracting enemies.
"More than just a fashionable accessory, the terracotta represents the strongest in Weed headwear."
Good Situations To Use This In: Just before entering fights.
Vase Weed
The Vase Weed is a Plant Summonable that works in the same way as a Terracotta Weed, however it has a Vase which gives it a massive amount of defense, meaning it has much more survivability. However, the cooldown before you can place another one is longer.
"This Weed grew into a vase and plays it off like he did it on purpose. Luckily, vases are super protective."
Good Situations To Use This In: Just before Overtime, just before entering fights, as a distraction.
Dandelion
The Dandelion is a Plant Summonable that moves quite quickly. They aim to get close to enemies and then explode when they get there. They deal quite high damage to enemies hit by this. When they explode, they basically vanquish themselves, so once they have used their attacks, say goodbye to it.
"Careful, they pack a wallop."
Good Situations To Use This In: When enemies tend to group, like on the objective, when you need to clear out enemy numbers.
RANGE
Wildflower
The Wildflower is a Plant Summonable that has very low health, however it can attack from a decent range. It can also attack enemies close to it or that it is close to. Its attacks also deal fairly decent damage, so that is a nice bonus.
"Half ranged, half melee, and 100% wild."
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need Ranged support and more damage output.
Wildflower (Terracotta)
The Wildflower (Terracotta) is a Plant Summonable that works pretty much identically to the regular Wildflower, however it has more health, but a longer wait time before you can place another one compared to the regular one.
"More health. Same amount of wild."
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need Ranged support and damage output, when you need more firepower for longer.
SUPPORT
Heal Weed
The Heal Weed is a Plant Summonable that walks around and heals your team. They deal no damage to your enemies, however they themselves have decent health, and the healing they provide to your team is quite strong. They produce healing sundrops fairly frequently which your team can collect to heal. This is useful during a fight for improved survivability, especially if you can protect your Heal Weed.
"This Weed comes equipped with magical healing generic brand adhesive bandages! Don't tell anyone, but they aren't waterproof."
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need healing, when your team has no healers, when your team is in the middle of a firefight.
Hypno-Shroom
The Hypno-Shroom is a Plant Summonable that can hypnotise enemies that it gets close it. This makes the enemy dizzy and blurs their screen and makes it all wavy, meaning it is hard for them to fight back, and they lose accuracy while hypnotised, meaning it is harder to hit or vanquish the Hypno-Shroom or others on your team. They may need the help of their allies to vanquish the Hypno-Shroom or use something to get away. They can also deal fairly minor damage, but have low health.
"Get too close, and he'll make you lose your marbles."
Good Situations To Use This In: When enemies are unaware of the approaching Summonable, when your team is pushing through to the objective.
An Interesting Bonus Tip
Here is a tip: if the game is going close to Overtime, try to summon as many Weeds as possible (or Hypno-Shrooms), especially a Vase Weed if possible, as they can contest the objective and can really prove useful in this time. Here is how each can help:
- Terracotta Weed: Damage contesting enemies.
- Vase Weed: Stall the objective and damage contesting enemies.
- Dandelion: Can deal high damage to enemies in objective, or possibly vanquish them.
- Wildflower: Can provide extra ranged firepower.
- Wildflower (Terracotta): Can provide extra ranged firepower and can stall the objective.
- Heal Weed: Can heal allies contesting the objective, keeping them unvanquished.
- Hypno-Shroom: Can confuse some enemies, making it harder to fight back.
Try to summon these as soon as you can before Overtime, most of these Plant Summonables (excluding Dandelion) move quite slowly so you will need to give them time to actually get to the objective.
AN OVERVIEW AND CONCLUSION
Plant Summonables are really useful! They can really helpful with firepower, stalling the objective, distracting your enemies or healing your team. It can really give your team that edge that they need in order to push ahead and to triumph over your enemies. Not only that, but you get the following rewards for use of Plant Summonables:
- 10XP for each Plant Summonable you summon.
- 15XP each time your Plant Summonable gets a vanquish.
- Extra XP from specific actions your Plant Summonable does, such as healing your team.
Like Pots and Bots, it is useful to know where the summoning locations are. This way, you will not need to look during the game. In any given map (they are only available on Goopy Gully, Turning Point or Tourist Trap), the places where you can summon these Plant Summonables will never change, so it is really useful if you can memorise where the locations are. It is generally good to summon your Plant Summonables quickly so they can refresh faster, unless you feel that it is not the right time to do so and you would rather save it for a different time.
Good use of Plant Summonables can really give you an edge in Turf Takeover when you are on Plants and on the capturing team - which, hopefully the guide has helped or will help you do!
See you next time, community!
Cheers
