Guide to Summonables (Zombies)!
Hey players,
This guide I have here is going to cover the Zombie Summonables in the game - including which ones there are, their uses and which situations I suggest they should be used in. I will also provide any additional information if I feel that it is necessary.
There are 3 kinds of Zombie Summonables: Melee, Ranged and Support. Melee Summonables are restricted to only close-range combat. Ranged Summonables can deal damage from decent ranges, but can also deal damage up close. Support Summonables heal your team or slow down (and damage) the enemy.
As a bonus note, Zombie Summonables can only be used in Turf Takeover, if you are capturing, and are on Zombies. They are not available anywhere else for use (if you play Turf Takeover often, it may be worth you reading this).
THE ZOMBIE SUMMONABLES
There are a total of 7 Summonables (for the Zombies) which can be placed. They have no cost in order to be placed, however, all Summonables have a cooldown that you need to wait for before they can be placed again (no exceptions).
MELEE
Buckethead Zombie
The Buckethead Zombie is a Zombie Summonable that attacks enemies that get close to it or that it approaches. It has a good amount of health and deals decent damage, so using this can be a good way for distracting enemies.
"Highest health of all non-shielded Browncoat Zombies."
Good Situations To Use This In: Just before entering fights.
Outhouse Zombie
The Outhouse Zombie is a Zombie Summonable that operates in a very similar manner to the Buckethead Zombie, however the Outhouse that it has equipped gives it a massive amount of defense, meaning it can take much more hit. However, the cooldown after being able to use another one is increased, meaning you cannot use this as often.
"Uses an outhouse to shield him from attacks. Has other unmentionable benefits, too!"
Good Situations To Use This In: Just before Overtime, just before you enter a fight, as a distraction.
Screen Door Zombie
The Screen Door Zombie is a Zombie Summonable that also works in a similar way to the Buckethead Zombie, however it also holds up a Screen Door that shields it from attacks at the front, giving it heaps of defense if hit there. The catch? Enemies hitting it from behind can quickly take it out, but other than that, he is very defensive.
"Shields himself from the enemy with his sturdy screen door."
Good Situations To Use This In: Just before Overtime, when you can protect the Screen Door Zombie from being hit from behind, as a distraction, before you enter a fight.
RANGED
TV Head
The TV Head is a Zombie Summonable that has very low health, however it can attack from a significant range. It is also able to attack enemies that are close to it or that it approaches. Its attacks deal some fairly decent damage, so that can be helpful as well.
"He's got good range AND all the best channels."
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need some Ranged support, need more overall damage.
TV Buckethead
The TV Buckethead is a Zombie Summonable that works pretty much exactly the same to the regular TV Head, but it has more health, but you need to wait a longer cooldown before using another one.
"More health than your average TV."
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need some Ranged support, need more overall damage, or want to provide a decent distraction.
SUPPORT
Heal Zombie
The Heal Zombie is a Zombie Summonable that walks around and heals your team. It can also deal very low damage to enemies. However, their health is not that great. The healing that it provides your team is quite strong. It has a heal aura which heals everyone on your team in it quite rapidly. This can be very useful during a fight because anyone in its heal aura will get decent healing, especially if you can manage to protect your Heal Zombie. He also chases after injured allies, so if you are on really low health, he may come for you (to heal you, of course).
"The Heal Zombie chases after you if you're injured. He looks scary, but he's just trying to help!"
Good Situations To Use This In: When you need to heal or are at low health, when your team has no healers, when your team is in the middle of a fight.
Yeti Imp
The Yeti Imp is a Zombie Summonable that goes up to enemies and deals high damage to enemies that it hits, as well as slowing down any hit enemies significantly for a short time after the impact, regardless of the damage it deals. When it goes towards an enemy, you need to say goodbye to it, because it vanquishes itself when it uses its attack on an enemy.
"He is very excited to have the opportunity to run and explode."
Good Situations To Use This In: Against enemies that are grouped, such as on the objective, when you need to clear out (or weaken) hordes of enemies.
AN INTERESTING BONUS TIP
First tip: Watch out for naughty Cactuses placing Potato Mines on your Zombie Summon piles so you do not get vanquished! Shoot the pile if unsure and see if you deal damage or if a Potato Mine explodes!
Here is another tip: if the game is going close to Overtime, try to summon as many Zombies as possible (or Yeti Imp), especially an Outhouse Zombie if possible, as they can contest the objective and can be really useful. Here is how each can help:
- Buckethead Zombie: Damage contesting enemies.
- Outhouse Zombie: Stall the objective and damage contesting enemies.
- Screen Door Zombie: Stall the objective and damage contesting enemies.
- TV Head: Can provide extra ranged firepower.
- TV Buckethead: Can provide extra ranged firepower and can stall the objective.
- Heal Zombie: Can heal most allies contesting the objective (all at once), keeping them unvanquished, and can deal minor damage to contesting enemies.
- Yeti Imp: Can deal high damage to enemies (or possibly vanquish them), or slow down their movement.
Try to summon these as soon as you possibly can before Overtime begins. Most of the Zombie Summonables (excluding Yeti Imp) move quite slowly so you will need to allow time for these guys to get to the objective.
AN OVERVIEW AND CONCLUSION
Zombie Summonables are very useful! They can be really helpful with giving extra firepower, stalling the objective, giving your enemies a hard time or healing your team. It really can give your team that needed edge for pushing ahead and triumphing over your enemies. But wait, there is more. You get the following rewards for use of Zombie Summonables:
- 10XP for each Zombie Summonable you summon.
- 15XP each time your Zombie Summonable gets a vanquish.
- Extra XP from specific actions your Zombie Summonable performs, such as healing your team.
Similar to Pots and Bots, it is very useful to know the locations of the summoning dirt piles. This way, you will not need to look around during matches. In any given map (they are only available on Loggy Acres, Peachy District and Preserve Pastures), the places where you can summon the Zombie Summonables will never change, so it is very handy if you can manage to memorise where these locations are. It is generally good to summon your Zombie Summonables quickly so they have a chance to refresh more quickly, unless you think that is not the appropriate time to summon them and you would rather save it for later.
Proper use of Zombie Summonables can really give you an advantage (and your team) in Turf Takeover when you are on Zombies on the capturing team - which, hopefully this guide would have helped you to do!
Thanks, and see you around!
Cheers
