HACKERS are killing this wonderful game.

100% doubt free it's plain hackers. Ranks like 230 and one shot kill, have like 50 more vanqushes than the next best player.

I've reported, I'm sure others have. Shouldnt there be an auto-kick mechanism if several people report the same player in the same session?? Several days now I'm been playing in games with hackers. It's totally killing the experience and making me FURIOUS!

And you know what else .. if you google garden warfare hackers, instead of threads like this to complain about it, rather links to download pages that allow for god mode hacks appears instead. Please do something about this!!! Update game code, release a patch, get an army of people to ban accounts. This is just insane!

I'm just a gamer dude, not affiliated with EA at all.

My experience so far has been pretty good.  Maybe I've been lucky.  I've only seen 2 people (one of them multiple times during the same day) that I was for sure was cheating (i.e. insta headshots).  I reported them using the in game method of reporting.  The overwhelming majority of the rest of the time there hasn't been people like that.  Now I'm sure there are cheaters in other game matches (I'm not naive) but not the really bad ones like the ones you describe.  Maybe I'm super lucky too.

Yes there should be a auto-ban feature for egregious cheaters like insta-kills.  Seems like FairFight should be able to do it, which this game is suppose to have.  I would bet it isn't working optimally.. in fact I remember seeing something about it but I can't remember where (on here or on twitter).  From what I recall it was "working on improvements to fairfight system" or something like that.

PvZ:GW isn't the only game that has cheaters.  It's virtually impossible to stop them unless you have proprietary hardware like Xbox1 or PS4 that hasn't been reversed... even then there can be tricks sneak in other ways (anywhere from controller mods to DNS server cheats and beyond).  Gabe Newell has some pretty decent descriptions on it.  Mitigating them is something that should be striven for.

I have faith FairFight will be improved for this game.  And whatever specific exploit is being used to get Insta-Kill... that needs to be patched if possible... otherwise FairFight needs to pick up on it quickly.

after 3 minutes in Gardens and Graveyards, a player called <removed> got 50 kills standing in the same spot, and nobody could kill him. Please EA, do something.

You have to report the user if possible.  You guys arent supposed to name them here.

  • This to do their job, I do not like.

Because I have to pass a bad moment and wasting time reporting.

And I never really found out if that player is banned.

There really isn't much that EA or any other game company can do about cheaters/hackers. They can, with stuff like Fairfight, usually catch the most obvious stuff, like the insta-kill and aimbot folks, but there will always be cheaters in every single online game. There are a lot of people out there that use cheats but act like they're not so they aren't as obvious. That's just the reality of this kind of thing.

Reporting does help, so do that when you can, but this kind of stuff is just an endless cat and mouse game between developers and hackers, and has been for a very long time.

It's the reason why I've preferred to do most of my competitive online gaming on console now. The closed systems that consoles run on make them very hard to reverse engineer, which means very few cheaters.

Fairfight doesn't seem to be doing its job then, especially if instant kill people can stay in the whole session...

More importantly, does reporting actually do anything ?  I've come across a serial hacker (level 233 which I've mentioned before), and he/she/it is still playing...

EA and Popcap could do a lot about hackers if they wanted to but it seems most publishers don't really care as long as the hacker has paid for the game.

SOE shut down hackers as soon as they are detected as they have a zero tolerance policy. Planetside 2 is pretty much hacker free on PC.

Oh well it's their game they are flushing down the toilet due to the hackers and their lack of caring about them 🙂
