They are but not really why is it,people think they should have to go out of their way everyday to get on fb or twitter?
Its kind of funny really because the people who spend their time in such places are essesially just wasting it. But was just saying that they should send messages to players thats all would work alot more and probaly gain them more prestiege.
Is it really that much or that obserd to ask that if you make a almost soely multiplayer game that it should be ran as such, or which is in this case with the lack of exspirience of making soely multiplayer games suggest they that they could indeed look into something like this as they are learning a bit so its not to say hey you guys suck.
Thats not the case actualy only infering that they could do such a system to make people happier and easier use like the majority of most (by most i mean all) proffesional multiplayer game company's or Ip's implement. This is soely a suggestion and i do hope they take notice because i'm sure that alot of people beside's the kids that play and mayhap even some of them feel the same way.
I'm not sure how they would be able to get the word out about an event not through social media. There always is an event billboard that appears in game, but that wont exactly help you if the game doesn't get booted.
Unless you're requesting that you get an email every time a community event starts; which I can see being annoying for a majority of players.
What other games do what you're suggesting? And how do they go about it?
