High CPU Usage from this game with high end processor. What is yours at???

Hello,

Whenever I run any other game, it runs ultra smooth and my usage never gets over 25-30% (and that is a lot).  As for Garden Warfare 2, I love the game.  But am unable to stream like I do my other games at 30 fps (uses about 20% usage) because GW2 used 55-80% usage as I play it.

I have tried reinstalling, I have tried lowering all my video settings to low and still get the same CPU usage.  This just is not right.  Below are my specs:

- Mobo: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Z87
- PSU: Rosewill Xtreme 850W
- OS: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k Devil's Canyon (Haswell Series) @4.0GHz Turbo @4.4GHz
- Memory: Gskill Trident 16 GB DDR3 2400
- Video Card: 6gb EVGA Geforce 980TI SC+

All drivers are up to date.  I have attached a screenshot of when it is on the lower end of usage.  However this gets up to 80 at times and I know this must be software related as no other games have this issue.

Is anyone else getting 60% cpu usage on this game with a brand new and one of latest models of processors?

Please help, I love this game and want to play it and STREAM IT!

If you need any more information, please ask.

-Rob

I have been asking around and everyone has said about 45-60 usage and some more besides you.  I am wondering how since we all have the same processor.  Any help from EA on this?  Also, would you mind posting the load as a screenshot so they can see that you get the 35% and I get the 60, with the same processors.  I believe that would be enough  evidence for investigation?

    Thanks~~!!!

Alright I can do that but right now I have to borrow another PC to play on and I won't have access to my own for a while. I don't know if I mentioned it before but I said up to 35% and last night at another glance it was as low as 25%... I'm not sure how long I had the game running at that point.

Btw, this PC that I am using right now to play is a new skylake build (desktop) so I can check the results here too.

So jealous of the 35% usage. i have the same processor I don't get it. Your temps look a little nicer than mine. You sure no aftermarket cooler/overclock is not set up with this rig. Cause you are getting prettier results with the same setup and I'm so confused. Hopefully more can post what there usage is at so we have some more comparable but thank you for these 🙂

hehe That happened to be a somewhat cool day but you can see they both reached up to  75°C and 72°C. I live in Texas and my temps can get up to 80°C for both CPU and GPU. I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler but I'm not overclocked. Most people will recommend that cooler. The skylake build uses the same cooler. My case is a NZXT Source 530 (full tower) meant for water cooling and instead I've set it up for air cooling.

No clue why my CPU usage only goes up to 35%. Are you using the stock cooler?

I am using stock but that is just temperature. If we have the same processor and neither is overclocked. The temp won't effect the actual cpu usage. So the cooler won't have anything to do with it.

However that would explain your lower temps.
