I changed my mind - Switch

Just wondering who else changed their mind and decided to buy the Switch version :P I said I wasn't going to, but than I saw the gameplay and it looked pretty good. At the same time I wanted to show some support for the game even though I know they aren't updating it. I'm just hoping in the future they see the game has sold enough copies to consider another PvZ Shooter.

  • I have not changed my mind and still do not plan on purchasing the game on Nintendo Switch, but when (actually, if) I get a Switch then I will buy this game. Will possibly still get it on PC at some point.

@TheSprinter85 If you don't have a switch yet maybe hold off. Rumour is Nintendo might be working on a Switch Pro with upgraded internals 🙂

  • I don't own a Switch but if I did, I'd probably get it. And I agree with you @Shinobicap and hope it sells well so they see we want a new PvZ shooter. I'm still playing all 3 on PC!

  • @Shinobicap I changed my mind and bought it - making it the 3rd version of BfN I own. I thought it would be cool to have for the portability and unlocking every costume, but it simply isn't worth it. I'm so disappointed in the port I'm going to return my copy.

@shurikeninja Not just that. In Handheld mode it performs well (enough), but in docked mode it's a slideshow that melts my switch. In addition to that, the camera is bugged. Gameplay also isn't the best, as Turf Takeover is only 8v8 (how "tactical", right?) and Team Vanquish is a weekly mode. I would probably keep the game if they integrated Team Vanquish as a main mode. I get that the user base is expected to be too small for it, but they could turn the main turf mode into a mixed mode of sorts, which alternates between turf and team vanquish.
Also, story mode can't be played with friends and EA hasn't responded to bug reports on it.

@benn1nat0r Sorry for hear that! I've actually never played my switch in docked mode lol. I always use it as a "3ds" kinda thing. It's unfortunate to hear of those performance issues. I don't notice much in handheld other than obviously low resolution and some choppiness in the cinematics.

@Shinobicap For that use case the port is great, but in docked mode it suffers from many problems. I'm wondering if it's just my switch, as you tubers seem to be able to record footage in docked mode just fine. My switch shut down once while playing bfn in docked mode because it overheated. Interestingly, it stays cool while playing other games in docked mode, so I don't know for certain.
