I don't get why the Sunflower can have her station, and beam, while the Scientist has to pick and choose between beam and station. Sure there's the heal ball, but that is not on par with the Sunflower's abilities.

Because she is a healer.. A healer.. Scientist has warp a shotgun a grenade and a healing ability.. You don't need two healing ability a and a warp/grenade..
The Scientist is a healer and the person is saying he should have 2 default heal slots and 1 combat, not 2 healing 2 combat. "Duhrr" Best describes your line of thought.
