I find mechs fairly simple to deal with. They're large targets and almost invariably cause the person using them to have to leave cover in order to fight. Even the close range mechs... it's no worse than if a super brains or scientist gets close up to you. Corn and Citron counter mechs quite effectively. As an Imp player, I am strongly against removing mechs, and even more strongly against buffing the base imp. The base imp is finally in a good place where he can still be fought against, yet not so OP that he destroys all in his path (remember Impkata in the beta? I still shudder), personally, I like the imp right where he is.
