My friend and I play on PS4 and this happens all the time. It is very frustrating. It also happens when we use a drone as Cactus / Dreadbeard.
I got the game after Christmas and I've been having this issue ever since. It's very frequent and easy to reproduce, and also highly annoying having to reboot the game every time. Or wait for about 4-5 minutes, until the character seems to be fully loaded and suddenly pops up.
