I've done pretty well with Citron. My biggest complaint is that I get 3 damage hits and then crit and the numbers I get are...3 damage. He's pretty solid for pushing the cart on TT matches that have them and they can really work well in teams. The first time I played Preserve Pastures there was a team of 3 of them spawn camping and trading off who was shielding who and it was hard to flank them to get around the constant fresh shields they put up.
All-star can shoot inside his dome whereas Citron can't but his shield is more flexible and you can't undercut it by getting in the dome and taking out the dummy.
I have 2 main builds for him, 1 that focuses on the shield with faster movement while shielded and getting ammo from blocking damage, this is my main TT build as it lets me defend and capture points more effectively. The 2nd build is mostly for PvE and focuses on the juice cannon, making it larger in diameter and always critting and lasting longer with vanquishes, making it go one for a very long time in Ops.
Spin Dash is pretty nasty and something you don't want to be in the path of, especially as an Imp. E.M.Peach is useful, but I don't use it as much as perhaps I should.
I don't feel he's that bad in the scheme of things but I can see where he feels off as his main weapon has such low numbers, it does fire pretty quickly at least. They are common in TT matches as they're very handy at choke points and control points.
don't forget to abuse his muzzle flash damage! you need to be really close to your enemy so that the muzzle flashes damage your target!
@DoomEternalHypeWhen I saw this, I had to check it out for myself. So Citron has a muzzle flash similar to Scientist in the GW games. Except Citron's range on his muzzle flash is a little farther! I did some testing and found out that you dont have to be right next to a zombie at all to do max damage. You still have to get close, but the muzzle flash damage has really good range.
I didnt even know he had this until I looked at the damage numbers. There's not really any visual tell that the muzzle flash could do damage besides the numbers. So thanks for pointing this out!I had no idea about the muzzle flash. I tried it out in PvP today but didn't notice it but will practise more.
Overall because of the advice here I have played a lot more citron in Turf (my favourite mode) and to my surprise have enjoyed him more and more. He can get work done. He may never finish top of the scoreboard, but when you are one of three citrons all riding the payload shielding in all directions who cares!! It's freaking fun.
