I like to put it near chokepoints, fairly often players will be focused on the firefight and won't be looking where they're stepping.
@chompchomf Do you think they need a buff? If so, what would you go for? Bear in mind decreasing their visibility may result in them being frustrating to play against.- 6 years ago@EA_David I have a suggestion make it so there are skins for Potato Mine and Spikeweed in the Reward-O-Tron 9000 and Rux like a Snow Mine or Snoweed or like Sea Potato or Tangle Kelp (for Spikeweed) or for a buff maybe make them camouflage in with the environment like little bumps on the ground that look like grass, wood or metal but it's a suggestion

Apart from chokepoints, I've seen player flying up to campers and setting mines behind them. Elevate mines so they won't suffer to splash damage. Infiltrate. Cameo reveals location, so no point of camping in one place for too long.

I think it depends on the mode really. I like them for defense in TT. Choke points and around corners works, also on dirt piles and in more discrete areas like corners or behind statues in bases in TT. The placement has to be pretty hidden because of that shiny red light or just somewhere that gets super busy so the zombies aren't able to take in details as well.

How is it useless? It's a skill that can 1-shot almost every character. It can be used to greatly create map control and ofcourse as others stated put it near chokepoints. The only thing I don't like is that you can easily see it with its red dot on top. In GW1+2 the mines didn't have this I believe.
