Ok, I've just had 3 games of turf.
Ist game: Was on Turning Point as a zombie in what started as a full lobby.
The zombies of course did the usual holding the plants at the bottleneck. A couple of minutes in, I checked teams & noticed plants were now a player down.
I tried swapping teams & got the usual "Are you sure you want to change teams? You may lose coins blah blah". I selected continue, but got message saying I couldn't because the other team had too many players . . . I double-checked & plants stll had 7 players to our 8.
I would've said my team had a larger amount of higher ranks as well - but I know that rank may not be used as a way to gauge balance in teams.
Game finished predictably & boringly at first base.
2nd game: Game started 8 zombies to 7 plants, zombies attacking, but we very quickly lost 2 plant players. A new player came in & they were added to plant side - whether that would've happened if there had been space on zombies, I can't tell. Lobby filled up & ended 2nd base.
3rd game: Found I'd been put on plants again, but plants were * still a player down. I don't know if I was moved because doing so meant that I was separated from a player who had just joined the lobby & was similarly ranked - the two of us were the highest ranks by a considerable margin.
That other player turned out to be a long-time nemesis from GW2 & by the time my team lost at the end of the game, I'd had enough of PvP experimenting!!! 😭😂

I had sort of 2 and a half games I think... as both @ToastedSarnie and @TheSprinter85 have already said was difficult to tell whether the new changes have made any difference. However I was put on the zombies team twice in a row, so this might have been due to the changes last night.
Guess as reports roll in as people try it we will know more 🙂
When I played yesterday, I entered the worst stacked lobby I’ve seen to date. Plants had two kills and Zombies had 30 something. One Zombie had 26 kills at the end of the match and 3-4 others had 10 or more (which suggests due to the lack of revives in stats) that some of them had just switched teams.
The next match, I was on the same team as the taunting 26 frags from before so I SWITCHED teams to be against him. This was ~2 hours after yesterday’s Tweets.
I’ll check again in 30-45.
I'm curious as well. I did play for a bit last night but was hanging out in Weirding Woods to work on soldier challenges. I would say the team balance and getting mechanics (lag, hit boxes, crashes, etc.) are the 2 key issues the game has right now, so it will be nice to see it in better shape!
I'm not able to get online today, so I was wondering if anyone has played since the game updated? And did team switching get limited? Does matchmaking seem better?

Team Swap is still active and I was just spawn on a lopsided team. Why was I put on a team with more players than the losing team of lesser skilled players? Doesn’t matter if we’re winning or losing, Team Swap is still allowed.
So much for PvP until the next update.... hopefully? 🤷🏼♂️
Ive played a few games today and the teams seemed same numbered mostly.... maybe I was just lucky...
what exactly has changed then?
What was this update actually about? Still unbalanced lobbies. I don't understand what's so difficult just to disable team swap.
Darn it, I hoped it would have been fixed by now...

Team Swap is alive and kicking and the team imbalances are worse than ever. @dwooten77 and I just played several modes for a few hours and it’s really worse than ever. 🤷🏼♂️
We switched teams so many times, I lost count and EVERY SINGLE MATCH, people switch teams (at the start of the match) so badly you cannot try to make a lobby fair. If you want a fun game, count to 100 and switch teams.

I played Team Vanquish and saw it there. He joined and we played the weekly event and saw it there bad. We moved to Battle Arena and the swapping might have been disabled there but not sure... however, the teams were HIDEOUS and new people seemed to be added to the opposite team needed to balance servers every game? I actually enjoyed BA so much I didn’t notice teams too unfair to make me want to switch. To clarify.... the ranks on our team were higher than the other team (we had rank 200 to 1200 and the other team didn’t have one player over 100). If the ranks would’ve represented skill, the lobbies would have been horrid. Had one AFK the last game, too.
We actually lost one round because of a series of unfortunate events but that’s what made me really enjoy it; super exciting. I’ll honestly say even with the team issues, BA is the most fun I have in this game, hands down. You don’t have to have big skill to win this mode as smart play and character selection are key. And don’t listen to wooten when he says to follow him.

It’s like following a blind guy. That’s the only reason we lost. Follow him and his gut feelings, die. Follow me, win. Simple as. I can’t explain it. He’s cursed maybe?
@PineapplePiano When you can next jump online, you could let us how the team balancing update worked out for you! 🙂
It seems better to me although I was on the winning side of 50-0 and it wouldn't let me switch, ha ha. First time I ever saw a near full game 50-0...I felt dirty. Generally the balance was switched up after game end from what I could tell.
@GormeyPost game lobby balancing works ok until people start swapping teams again. I had a couple games where I had to stay on the Zombie side 4 times in a row. But the whole team swap issue is still a thing. I'd like to have a Pop Up window during the matches which tell the players about the uneven lobby. Something like: "The other team misses some players. Do you want to swap now and get some XP, coin and Rainbow Star boost?"
