Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm right then. If you unlock the door, you are ok. You can only carry one key at a time.
Once you unlock a door to a Trial it stays unlocked permanently, so evidently you just shouldn't wait after you've received s key and head down to open the appropriate door immediately.
At first I got scared when I started reading your post and ran to the wife's ps4. I logged in quickly because I had 2 keys ready but did not open any doors. I know she would have flew through the roof after grinding to get the keys if one disappeared on her. I was fortunate and both doors opened up but I will not bank any more keys just in case, so my keys remained I did not lose any and one was the red key that you had lost sorry to hear about that.
- ApprovedGlad to hear you were able to open them up. I am frustrated that mine didn't work, and just don't want anybody else losing out after getting one of the elusive keys!
