Having the legendary upgrade available from the prize map is fine for me - but I have some concerns/issues with it as well. It's great to have a feature in this game that is purchased that is not cosmetic, cosmetic items are fantastic to have in this game, and always will be, it changes the game a fair amount, you see different looking characters. It's great but they offered no competitive advantages whatsoever. Yes, normal character upgrades are in the game, but they are not purchased, rather you just get them at the start or you level up to get them. Easy enough. I really want cosmetics to continue being made, and I think they will be for a long time, which is excellent, so thank you, but what about something that offers a competitive advantage that you can purchase as well? They had variants and alternate abilities in the GW series, where is this in BfN? 🤔
By adding these legendary character upgrades, the game has something which can be grinded for and purchased as well, without it simply only being cosmetic, and on top of that they have cosmetics as well which somewhat match the character's upgrade as well, which is a really cool idea. These legendary character upgrades are completely different compared to the GW series - they didn't exist, and probably never will, which is why it's so great, and I hope the developers will also add, as well as cosmetics, more non-cosmetics for purchase (or by grinding). Although, I'm pretty sure that they will make more legendary upgrades anyway, which is cool! 😎
Where's the issue then? It's pretty much completely fine, but why is it going to be available for Rux? You can already purchase Prize Bulbs for Rainbow Stars (which is not ideal) so why the need for that? Yes, it involves grinding but it makes it all worth it (and don't forget you can purchase prize bulbs as well). You shouldn't need to make it available from Rux, I don't think it's the best idea, but other than that it's great that these upgrades got added! 🙂
As for the Wizard 🧙 character, making him available for purchase with coins after he is available from the prize map is a great idea, it gives something else to spend coins on and everyone can get him, but the people who get him beforehand gets a special cosmetic for him and gets to show him off earlier. THAT is a great idea! 👍

This is not a cool idea. Lets start from the beginning..... GRIND IS BAD!
Playing game for fun, and as you want and when you feel to play doesn't work when you HAVE TO GRIND, You have to launch game every day to do daily challenges, you have to do character specific challenges OR you have to play 24/7 to earn enough price bulbs! And its okay if you don't gring and won't get some cool cosmetic, its still just a cosmetics, but an update is not JUST a cosmetic, its differnet working weapon that can make feel character in different way!
That update should be earnable ONLY by leveling that character up! Make it grand master price. Don't put it in a freakin price map, when you have only one month to earn that upgrade or else spend stars.
Upgrate itself is good, but it made in all wrong ways. Its in wrong place to earn, its in wrong place to use, puting it in 7 dots buff and asking 5 dots, WHYYYY, HOW IS IT AND UPGRADE! You do more damage but shot slower, its differnent way to fight but but not exactly better one!

@delete180 True, that makes the legendary upgrade more of a pay-to-win feature because of grind. Either grind hard or pay money. If it was available from levelling up instead, that'd be totally fine, I'd probably prefer that over the way it is now (as well as many other people). Less pay-to-win that way. At least it's not worth like 1000 rainbow stars! 😇
- 6 years ago300 rainbow stars takes a month of moderate playtime. Completing the prize map takes 2-3 weeks of moderate playtime. I'm sorry but that's just the way games are and they're more enjoyable for some people that way, you yourself are advocating for it to be put as a Grand Master reward (which would be much worse). This system is much, MUCH better than Garden Warfare 2.
Most players have more than 0 stars so in the case that they can't play moderately for 2-3 weeks and get it in the prize map they won't even need to "grind" for a whole month.
It's also fair for it to be 5 Points. However, it depends on the DPS of the upgrade (if it's balanced) Imagine if Fire Pea was in this game. It does less damage because of fire damage. However, ignoring the horrible balance of GW2, in that game you had to grind so much and be destroyed by the RNG gods to have a CHANCE of getting it. Not to mention how you can still use 3 upgrades. Z7 Imp can have 3 upgrades. Iron Citron can have 3 upgrades. Commando Corn in BFN? He's got a shield when he aims, but he's only got 2 Points left. It's certainly a strong upgrade, but I'd say it depends on how balanced the DPS is. - Conewhizz6 years agoNew Vanguard
I think just getting them out of the prize map and putting them in rux for 500k coins is the best choice, for people who have saved rainbow stars or dont wanna grind, they could add 2 options for buying too, the second option being 300 rainbow stars. Less pay to win. And people wont stress themselves out, besides they could speed up the development of these and not just limit them into months, so the game feels more fresh.
