Missing Old Maps

I know it's a bit premature to ask this because I know it would take so much work to do, but do the devs plan on remastering old maps to add to the game at a future point? I'm just curious because I just played GW2 and GW1 the other day and I had forgotten how much I LOVED some of the old maps such as sharkbite shores or the colosseum, or the time park. I do like the new maps too and can't wait for preserve pastures; Again, I'm not demanding it but just wondering if it has been considered to add old maps.

  • My favorite parts of GW1 are the maps; I love Cactus Canyon, Crash Course, Chomp Town, such good ones! in GW2 I especially enjoy Frontline Flats, Zombopolis, and Zomburbia.

I don't actively dislike any map in any of the games (Time Park comes close though), but I would love a little more variety in BfN, especially if thehy bring back those golden oldies!

I didn't play gw1 but some of the maps look great 🙂
But boy could Bfn do with some more maps...
I know its early days really in map terms perhaps... and of course all the other issues to be dealt with first.... but its getting pretty boring with the same maps all the time.

@spIash_damage I probably should start searching for old threads when I have a question instead of creating a whole new one 🙂

    Thanks for providing that link!

    No worries.

I just wanted you to know you’re not alone.  I even Me Too’d your post because it’s a no brainer; love those maps compared to BfN.

I really loved the old GW1 maps. You got a real sense of the Zombies encroaching on the neighborhoods in those old Turf Takeover maps because they literally started in places like Zomboss's mountain fortress or in old graveyards and the assault would start you in undeveloped wilderness areas and the map would gradually become more settled with houses and shops and urban development coming in organically as you headed towards your goal.

GW2 lost some of that with a few of their maps since they deliberately went for more exotic themes but a few of them, like Frontline Flats, Zomburbia, and Moon Base Z, had a bit of the same flavor in that you could get a sense of starting in one place and progressing over a distance into new areas but the BfN maps just seem like you're moving through one big area instead of from one area to a new one so they give a different feel.

I remember that the GW1 maps were never designed with some of the newer GW2 characters in mind, specifically some of the variant Mechs were huge in size, but they did give us the Aqua Center which PvZ vets would recognize as the old Garden Center map from GW1 now firmly under Zombie control.

I would actually pay a reasonable price for DLC if they were to update some of the older maps to account for the newer classes and roll them into BfN.

The maps in GW2 compared to the maps in BFN are very different, so it would be nice to have a map from GW2 reintroduced into BFN so that we have some familiar content (maps). It would be nice to bring back some of the old maps, such as Great White North, Frosty Creek and Time Park (sorry for those people who don't like time park😳)! Most of the maps in GW2 are great and bringing one or a portion of them into BFN would make the game more interesting!😃

@realitysquared Well said! I fully agree on all counts. I miss the days of emerging from Zomboss Mountain or the crashed Zomboss airship to attack and the plants standing at the vanguard to stop them. GW2 is my favorite overall but GW1's maps were winners.
