I've been playing for almost 6 months now. I have every character unlocked and almost every card in the game(just a couple more legendarys to go).
I have 3 or more decks for each character. So, that's 60+ decks I have to choose from.
I know where you're coming from. I had similar thoughts on balance earlier into the game as well.
After building and trying out every strategy and deck style I can think of, I find the game to be surprisingly well balanced.
That means I can pick just about any deck of mine, and win most games. The trick is to pick a strategy that fits the deck you are playing and stick to it.
There are a few over-powered cards for sure. And at least a couple broken cards(I feel like I'm cheating every time I use a Sergeant Strongberry deck). But ultimately, every deck can be beaten.
Lately I have been putting together zombie decks with about 20 Gargantuars(or similar sized zombies) in each. It's a challenge making the game last long enough to put them to use. But it's a lot of fun, and I've been having a lot of success with them too.
Just keep playing and trying different things. You'll get better and better.

Thank you for your answer.
I see what you are trying to say and I will not say that I have nothing left to learn in this game but some of the power differences are imo obvious and should be adressed.
The seargent goodberry infinite loop is another story, it's not 'strong' or 'unbalanced' it is 'broken' meaning that it should be fixed and probably should not be used as an argument to balance the game.
One type of decks I haven't tried and I suspsect not many people have tried are the multiple legendaries decks since most people cannot make those decks. Maybe you can win with factions that are otherwise poor in the normal cards departement.
But note that due to the ranking system (the wide range of opponents you can face) once you are a decently good player you will win most of your games. I probably have a 85/90%+ win rate overall, but I lose alot less if I use captain combustible or brainstorm/immorticia for example.
My goal was mainly to open a discussion on the power cards/classes and the underpowered classes and see if there are plans to improve the overall balance. No games can be 100% balanced but heroes could certainly go with a wider range of tier 1 decks imo.
- Anonymous9 years agoI think zombie legendaries are very lack luster. Ive dropped around 300 USD on a z-mech deck and the legendaries are silly compared to the plant counter parts. They have cards that can single handedly win the game from an otherwise certain defeat. I get a barrel that damages my own zombies, a gargantuan who only has 6 damage and matches my HP and if I'm deep into a game and low on health it's worthless. Meanwhile wall nut get a 6/10 armored legendary that absorbs all damage that would be going to the plant hero. So I have to do 20 damage to his legendary before I can attack him? Are you kidding me?? That's broken. There are more examples but long story short buff zombie legends or nerf plant legends or big spenders won't play long if they prefer zombie as I do.

Technically, you only need to do 11 damage if you can do it in one hit. But yes, that is one of a few overpowered cards in the game.
In general I actually prefer Zombie decks and zombie legendarys.
