My thoughts on the GW2 Yeti king challenge
Why is the Yeti King portal challenge so impossible?
It's not really impossible.
The Yeti King event simply demands intelligent character choices on the part of the players, that they be able to play strategically an as a coherent team and it demands that they be able to handle their chosen character well.
All Boss Hunts are difficult, especially at higher difficulty levels, but they can be accomplished
