New accounts get better packs

It's been pointed out in reddit (and I've now confirmed) that if you create a new account now, the 100 gem packs will give you 4 premium uncommon and 2 rare or better cards, basically doubling the amount of cards that people with older accounts get.

Is this a bug? Is this a change to increase the acquisition rate for newer accounts? Whatever the reason, I should mention that it feels rather bad that my gems aren't as effective as those with newer accounts. Anything you could think of to improve this rotten feeling?

    Yea ive seen this too and I feel kinda bad knowing that ive been playing this for quite a while and earn less than inexperienced players who'll probably get better cards than I have already.

    Whoa I never knew this until now.  I'm pretty upset over this if that is the case.  Why would the developers change the rules for certain players based on when they register?  Terrible

    That is ridiculous!

    I bet Apple will have something to say about a developer showing prejudice to certain players through in-app purchases.

    We will see.

    At this point I would just like some kind of official notice indicating why this is happening.

    I somehow missed playing PvZ Heroes until it released a few days ago and am confused by this as well. It should be the same for all players obviously.

    I am a new player (about two days, in the wood league) and in my packs I already received 2 legendary cards and one hero (Brain Freeze if that helps) from two packs. I received one legendary from one pack, and a legendary and a hero from the next one or the one after that. I opened about 5 or so of the 100 gem packs and considered myself really lucky, unless what you are saying is true.

    Also, (a complaint, sorry) there is no way to see who I am playing during a match and can't friend them if I wanted to, which really takes away the point of the friend function outside of people I actually know.
