I also have more than 500 hours invested in the game.
I've read the complaints; the majority prior to this update revolve around players pitching a fit that they're favorite character has been "ruined" by a new Balancing patch which reduced something or other, that someone thinks that Character X is over powered because they have a difficult time handling combat with that particular character class or character variant, or complaints that someone can't seem to get lucky and receive a particular character or accessory sticker.
After the Trials of Gnomus update, setting aside the insane frame rate dropping crash which has been ruining everyone's good time, the complaints have been revolving around not receiving a key from the 50 Rainbow Star chest on this opening launch of the content, complaints about how difficult it will be to achieve the collection of 100% of every accessory, and complaints that someone isn't being allowed to plow through the entire content of the update in the first 48 hours.
You'll have to pardon me but after you set aside the legitimate gripes which concern bugs, glitches and connection issues the community complaints entirely concern wanting the game to give them stuff guaranteed as quickly as possible and wanting balance adjustments to the game to make it easy for them to beat whatever character they're having problems with in the game.
I might be in the minority here, but I honestly don't care how long it may or may not take for me to collect all of the accessories.
Popcap has decided to factor in randomization in the awards and wants to roll their update out in pieces to keep players coming back over the longer term. The amount of bitter anger I see coming from some players over this is just baffling to me personally.

When this game first came out, it was a race to see who could unlock all the legendaries and who spent the most coins to get them. I decided not to hunt for legendaries and bought the 7500 pack for filling my stickerbook up first. I knew I would not get the legendaries buying those packs, but I didn't see the rush either. There was only four of them and when you have to level EVERY variant to increase your rank, I could not afford to focus solely on four characters. Everyone else screamed about the RNG and about new players unlocking them before they did. I never cared about how long it would take me to unlock them or if everyone had them before me.
- 9 years agoSee the problem isn't the people who want to complete the game. I haven't completed the game myself with over 500 hours. I just recently finally got the last legendary character with the last community challenge and I'm not Max rank or have the sticker book completed. And I'm just fine with it because I enjoy the game itself. I never complained about grinding or balancing before. And that was because i wasn't being forced to wait for content as soon as I collected enough coins I could unlock new content. Players like you and me who truly enjoy the game without complaints over balancing and legendary drop rates won't abandon this game and popcap doesn't realized that so they come up with this *ty system to have players come back every week!
