New player - a few questions

Hello everyone,

I just started playing the game last week and have a few questions.

How many total single player levels are there? I have read that it is smart to concede matches early in the campaign so as to complete challenges but still have a relatively easy match to play. This has been helpful, as I've accrued close to 2,000 gems just from completing challenges/conceding/trying again on the same map. At what point do the single player levels start to become really nasty? Currently I am on chapter four in both the plant and the zombie campaigns.

I am working toward 2,000 gems to get the oft-recommended 20-pack. Do I have to open all 23 packs at once, or can I save them and just open one a day?

Do the challenges eventually become only "Win a game with _________ or win a multiplayer match"? I initially got a nice variety with kill X zombies, X plants, etc., but my last few challenges have only been Win challenges.

Thanks!

    1) There are 40 plant missions and 40 zombie missions.  Each mission has 5 levels.  So, there are 400 levels total, 200 for each side.  Notes: Once you get to the final level of the final mission of either side, you actually can't complete it.  You can win it, but you can't progress, and all you can do is play the last level of either side over and over again.  Another note is that you cannot replay old missions you've already completed.

As for when things get real nasty, I'd say at mission 20 for both sides.  I am currently stuck on Mission 20 on the zombie side, "A Shadow Falls", where the gimmick is that whenever a plant is played, it automatically gets +1/1 for free.  Mission 20 for the plant side is easier for me, but the boss is still pretty hard.

    2) You automatically open all 23 packs at once.  As a new player, you should save up and buy 2 2,000 gem packs, as they are the best deal in my opinion.  After that, save for 2 1,000 gem packs, then stick with getting a single premium pack whenever you get 100 gems.  This is because gems are harder to get later in the game.

    3) There are 7 types of challenges that should be available to get always:

    1. "Win a multiplayer game."

    2. "Win a match with X hero."

    3. "Win a match with a X-Classed hero."

    4. "Defeat X plants/zombies."

    5. "Play 5 Beans/Peas/Dancers/Ect."

    6. "Do X damage to heroes."

    7. "Play X plants/zombies that cost X Sun/Brainz or more/less." (The hardest in my opinion)

Then there's a MEGA-QUEST you get every 2 weeks that gives you 100 gems when completed that says: "Do 300 damage to heroes."

Hope this helps.  I'll answer ANY other questions you may have.

Not sure how many single player levels as Ive never done any oast first level months ago when I first started playing. Keep grinding those quests to get most Gems out of it.

Open all 23 packs at once bro! Get all those shinny new cards asap and play with them! No point in dragging this out.

The quests stay the same. You might still get a kill x plants, etc...
  • 1) There are 200 levels (40 maps, 5 each), when you reach the last one is the only one you can play. I've completed all and I don't have problems with any challenge, if you have a weak hero you can always play an informal play without risk.

    2) You can not open them one by one if you by all together. I bought 20+6 with an offer and I only got bad things and 0 heroes. I suggest you open one a day better.every wekk or so there is a new hero available to purchase for 750 gems, I bough 7 already this way so is always good to have saved a few gems.

    3) There are only a few challenges and you'll see the same again and again. You'll see again those "kill 25 plants/zombies".
