Freezes are way more effective crowd controls than what your post makes them out to be. When Ice Rose's charged shot could instant-freeze, it was deemed broken on top of the damage it did. However, that was a ranged attack and you could safely "spam" it around corners to stunlock people. Here, Frosty Brainz's (Gonna call him that) charged punch is at melee range, and he can only do it to one plant at a time, and it'd probably be a weaker hit than Cozmic Brainz's banishing punch. So I'd like to see that just to see if it would be balanced by virtue of it being melee or not.
However, the Ultra Ball shouldn't change using this variant, and the wrist beam needs to be much weaker than Frozen Citron's to be fair. The wrist beam on Electro Brainz is what makes that variant OP after all.
My friend said the exact same idea having Brainfreeze and a fiery brains and Uni-Corn
