[Old Report] PvZ BfN close immediately after loading Easy Anticheat.
Recently I bought an ultralight laptop. Although I mainly use it to write code/reports, I want to have few games inside that I can play while I'm free, and BfN is one of them.
However, I found that the game closes immediately after completing loading Easy Anticheat, which is frustrating. (The window of the game shows up and then closes)
My main laptop loadout is as follows:
CPU: i5-10210U
GPU: MX350
Memory: 16G DDR4 2 channel
I first thought the PC doesn't meet the minimum requirement, but I checked the ranking of my CPU and GPU,
that the CPU, i5-10210U, is slightly weaker than i7-7700HQ, which is the CPU of my another PC and the game works fine on that, and it's definitely better than 3rd gen of i3 (i3-3200)(I even cannot find it on the ranking list). (BTW, even i5-5200U can run Garden Warfare 2)
And as for the graphic card, I found it similar to GTX960, slightly lower than GTX1050 MaxQ, although it doesn't meet the recommended GTX970, it's definitely greater than minimum GT 640.
So in theory, the laptop can run this game in at least low-medium graphic.
I have tried run the game in administrator, repaired the game, closed Origin-in-Game layout, run the game under high performance graphic card, but none of these method work. I wonder if anyone can have some solution on this issue, thanks.
I've upload the DxDiag log in case you need it.
- Hey there, I have successfully found the issue and fixed myself.
I changed the name of my user folder under C:\Users into English and the problem is solved.
It won't be problems for majority players using Indo-European languages. But for me as a Chinese, and probably other Japanese or Korean players etc. , if we set-up Windows 10 using our Microsoft account, the name of the user folder will be changed into Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters, which could cause issues for the game or easy anti-cheat, and that's why the game continuously close.
And here are my solutions, for (Windows 10) hope it will help more players in the future.
1. Run CMD in administrator mode, type "net user administrator/active:yes"
2. Restart your PC and login as administrator.
3. Open C:\Users, if your user folder is not in English, change it in to English such as "user" or "MyPC" etc.
4. Win+R input "regedit"
5. Find the following folder: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Profilelist"
There should be several folders under "Profilelist" folder, and there's "ProfileImagePath" file in each folder. Find the one which contains your previous user name and change it into the new one which corresponds to the folder name you changed in C:\Users. Do not change other files.
6. Save your change and restart your PC, login with your account, and now you can successfully enter the game.
Anyway, thank you for your help illuminate.
