Olds Cool Boss Fight and Story Mode - Plants Town Center!

Hi everyone,

In this guide, I will be be covering the story mode in Plants Town Center, which includes the story quests and the Olds Cool final boss fight. I will provide my personal tips to make it easier to defeat Olds Cool. By completing the Story Mode, you earn plenty of rewards and medals along the way, and you will have officially completed the main part of your region as well as getting exclusive items.

To get up to the Olds Cool boss fight, you must begin by doing 4 quests before you are able to fight Olds Cool. You must use the Mindblower, which you get access to by completing the 4 quests in order to access the Boss Gate, which is a Lawnmower item you use to crash through to the Boss Gate. To do this, you need to find different characters around the map and talk to them, then they will offer you a quest. If you accept the quest and follow the instructions that are given to you during the quest, you will get a piece of equipment towards being able to use the Mindblower, and a bunch of Coins as well. There are a bunch of Mindblower locations around the map, and you can also unlock collectibles located around the map by using the Mindblower stations. If you complete the 4 quests, you will collect all the pieces for the Mindblower, and will now be able to use it to get into the Boss Gate, as well as gather other collectibles, such as Golden Chests which you need to use the Mindblower to get access to as well.

Getting Up To Olds Cool

Once you have completed the 4 quests and you are ready to fight Olds Cool, locate the Boss Gate. It is located in the Sewers close to Pressure Pier. Then, what you need to do is a find a nearby Mindblower station (there is one located quite close to the Boss Gate), you can look for the Boss Gate and Mindblower Station on your map, then use the Mindblower and detonate it right in front of the "cool zombie" guarding the gate. To detonate the Mindblower, press the same button as you normally would when you use your character's primary fire. Be cautious of which character you want to play as before you head through the Boss Gate, because once you have picked your character and headed through the Boss Gate, you cannot respawn or change your character unless you abandon the activity, so do take that into consideration.

My Olds Cool Tips!

My personal tips for having an easier time defeating Olds Cool are as follows:

• Keep moving around throughout the fight when possible, you should be able to dodge most of his attacks this way.
• Characters that have good mobility are useful as you can avoid most of his attacks much more easily.
• Characters with high health, that have healing capabilities or shields are useful to use due to increased survivability.
• When the disco tiles are rotating around you, focus on destroying parts of them so you can move through them without taking damage, before aiming for the boss.
• Before entering the Olds Cool boss gate, consider what upgrades you are going to use on your character.

The Rewards

If you manage to defeat Olds Cool, you get all of the following:

• 1,000 XP for the character you used to defeat Olds Cool, if you do not have the levelling up upgrade.
• The Universal Plant Hat - Leaf Cadet.
• Plenty of Coins.
• Other rewards you receive along the way in the Story Mode.

Associated Medals

By completing the Story Mode in Plants Town Center, you earn plenty of Medals along the way. Here are the associated medals you will collect for completing these related activities:

• Sweet Talker: Talk to Major Sweetie and complete the quest she offers you.
• From Husk Till Dawn: Talk to Corny Corn and complete the quest he offers you.
• New Age Rage: Talk to Land Phil and complete the quest he offers you.
• Bling Friends Forever: Talk to Tenderleaf and complete the quest he offers you.
• Record Scratch: Defeat Olds Cool and win the boss fight.

CONCLUSION

Once you have completed the 4 quests and defeated Olds Cool in your final fight, you would have completed your Story Mode in Plants Town Center. As well as doing this, you would have earned plenty of Medals and rewards along the way as well, and completed a large part of your region overall. However, that is not all, you have more activities and challenges to complete, as well as plenty of collectibles in your region, if you want more rewards and are actively trying to fully complete this region. Completing the Story Mode earlier is a good idea as some activities and collectibles require most or all of the Story Mode to be completed first.
