What exactly is this camera glitch? I hear it all the time, but never encountered any camera glitches myself with chompers.
Sometimes when you burrow as chomper the camera would snap and look the other way or spin or something stupid and it would then fix itself and allow you to actually move properly.
Are you playing this game on PC? I can't get that to happen at all on Xbox One, they say it causes that issue to happen when you rotate the camera as you begin to Burrow. (On Xbox One, the camera is locked during the Burrow animation)
