PC Origin Plants vs Zombie cant connect to EA

ok, I have a laptop and a gaming PC. I bought the game for both my sons account and my account.

On gaming PC, running windows 8.1

My account logs in to origin, starts game, connects to EA, and I can play.

Son's Account can also log in to origin, starts game, connects to EA, and he can play. Same install, just shows the one game for him when he logs in.

On laptop running windows 8.1

My account logs in to origin, starts game, connects to EA, and I can play.

Son's Account can log in to origin, starts game... game hangs saying Connecting to EA.. NEVER connects!

I am lost why this happens. I tried reinstalling Origin and the game last night, same issue.

I installed both games on my PC and laptop under my account, not my sons. But clearly it works without issue on PC.

Thoughts?
