[PC] PvZ GW2 Unable To Invite or Join Friends

I recently purchased Garden Warfare 2 on Steam and was attempting to join my friend who also recently got it. On my account (in terms of gameplay) I got just past opening the garage up for the first time and escorting grumpy. The error that shows up for me claims that the game is "Unable to find the player to join the group". When my friend tries joining me, he gets a similar message but it just says that it was "unable to join". After struggling with joining for a while, we decided to just play the online multiplayer mode which worked flawlessly and we ended up in the same games. On my device, I haven't been able to change my computer's network privacy to from just public to both private and public. This was the case for my friend as well and even after changing his setting it did not help the situation. This happens when both inviting each other through the EA App and through using the globe in the backyard.

    My friends don't appear on the friends list, and trying to join their party won't work, because it shows me message ,,Unable to join the party. Try again later". All of our accounts are public, and the settings to join party are also ,,open". This makes us not able to play with friends and enjoy the game more.

    • Region:
    • Are you using an internal or external drive?
    • Are you using an HDD or SSD?
    • Date this issue started (is it still happening?)

    My friend and I have been trying recently to join our gardens or a multiplayer lobby together and we just keep getting the "unable to join session" error message after waiting 2 minutes of loading.

    Before we were able to join multiplayer lobbies, one of us would join a game and invite the other once inside the game, but now we can't even do that. We tried inviting each other in our gardens and that error message keeps coming up, and same thing in the multiplayer lobby.

    The picture is on my friends perspective, but it translates to what I mentioned earlier.

    We already tried enabling our firewalls for inbound/outbound rules to ensure everything was working and that didn't work at all.
