Some people were disabling Origin and that was causing issues. Make sure everything is on becuase the invites are through Origin I think
My friend and I both have "enable origin in game" turned on. We also added the rules and ports to the firewall as suggested but it still doesn't work =/
The only consistent way I've found to join a friends game, is to join when their game is loading. Right at that moment if you hit join, you should get in.

Same issue here. Joining my two friend keep me getting "unable to connect. check internet connection" and when I create the lobby, my 2 friends that try to join me keep getting that message until i'm getting that message too. This game is completely broken.
