Pea Gatling

Either rate of fire or damage dealt need to be changed and quite possibly both. The amount of damage dealt so quickly earns vanquishes undeservedly so for a Pea caught off guard or out of position. Bean bombs refresh so fast and Gatling does so much damage so quickly that dropping a bomb before entering Gatling clears everyone away and leaves you to mow down an entire crew like a fat kid through cake.

Bad part is, these are the only good things about Pea. His splash damage is inconsistent to say the least and I have had more unregistered direct hits with him (remember splash damage would be applied if I shot at feet like I do) than I like to count. Hyper is irritating and only fuels the clumsy over all feeling of the game. Most importantly, what is this god awful hovering but not really; is it really necessary? Might as well paint a giant target on the floating pea. I treasure the moments I find a peashooter floating clueless in the air as if to be inconspicuous during pvp.

  • @GammaX6To be honest I didn't know that Pea Suped gave Peashooter a fire rate buff. That certainly makes the ability more useful. Thanks for pointing it out 🙂

And you are quite right that jumping around like mad is a very effective tactic.

I will amend my assessment of Pea Suped from "mostly useless" to "less useful than it was in GW2" (due to having less utility for moving quickly, now that we have sprint).

As @GammaX6 points out, Pea Suped is actually really good. The fire rate increase is nothing to sneeze at and while hovering can make you a sitting duck, it can also mess with an enemy zombie's targeting as they expect you to land at a certain point and you stay airborne.

At first I was quite indifferent to it, but using it in PvE first, I had to change my mind.

As far as Gatling, it's quite good as usual. It can be extremely nasty at long range which feels a bit off as I normally associate Gatling weapons with point defense.
